I’d add Portland, ME
I was thinking about it, but I actually prefer Portsmouth, NH and Newburyport, MA, which are the same type of New England whaling cities. Portland has a bit more tourist overload as well. Portland does have a better food scene though.

We also have some fresh pineapple and I really want to do a pineapple guac instead of traditional, but my wife does not really eat fruit, so I think I'll just cut some up and mix it in myself on the side (along with extra jalapenos)

only real miserable part of the trip so far is with wife's adopted parents -- they aren't vaxxed, so he's the only set of parents out of 3 that hadn't met baby. we told them before we came that we'd be fine if they took at home tests when we got there if they wanted to hold him or whatever, which apparently her mom said was fine. we get to their house, her dad's not home, but her mom takes the test, negative, cool, she takes the baby. he comes home and my wife is like "hey shove this swab up your nose" and the dude straight up refuses. says "we'd get the same result if we ran it under the faucet"

he's kind of an asshole (maga dude who is, obviously, extremely anti-vax) but he's generally been nice to me (and has even taken the time to hear out to some of my SOCIALIST TALKING POINTS OH GOD), and he's done a ton for her, so i'm not really gonna push it, though i did take a shot at him for it when he was trying to talk to me about his campaign for state senate (which he is running in as an independent)

just sucks because i know my wife wanted him to be able to chill with baby. we went back over there for dinner last night and as we left she told me she was bummed that he acted sort of cold to him. just sort of a shitty situation

I've been casually looking for a new job for a while now and I have a couple that I'm really interested in that seem to be slow-playing me.

And then there is this other one that is literally the exact same job that I do now, just with a different firm... And they made me an offer that is exactly what I am doing now. Feels like it'd be bad to make such a lateral move after only 18 months at my current firm.

Not really looking for advice... Just puzzled.
If there is no real upside in title, responsibilities or remuneration, and your current gig is stable, I would argue stay. Better the devil you know. This is coming from a guy who is about to be jobless with two several month stints on the top of his resume.

Legal unemployment is at less than 1% right now and companies are still ghosting interviews and candidates. Its a weird weird world out there, if you can wait for something that excites you, I'd do that.

new bedford food scene underrated while we're talking whaling cities

Why add pineapple to something as perfect as guacamole?

I'm down to try it. And enjoy pineapple salsa with say a fish taco. But not sure I've had pineapple guac.

Had some shockingly good tacos at work lunch today from Taco Bamba

Because variety is the spice of life! We have tacos 4x a month probably. It's summer! Time to freshen things up a bit! Let yr hair down! Do a little dance!

Or in other words... Fresh. New. Vibes.

What is the best ABBA song?
Take a chance on me.

May have said it here before but back in the day a crazy, hot chick would put that on the juke box while I was bar tending. She'd lipsynch it to me. Should have broken up with my then gf since we were on again off again all the time anyway.
