Conference Expansion: Stanford, California and SMU Join the ACC

Thank you for supporting my "All Coasts Conference" moniker. I'm planning on retiring with the royalties...

This is a horrible time to have Russia lit dweebs making decisions on the future of college athletics in the ACC

Sadly that is what is happening. The fact that some of these academic types can’t make time on their schedule for emergency meetings at this critical time tells you all you need to know.

The big 12 beat us to the punch because some of our university presidents were having tea.

Jim Ryan at UVA was a first generation college student who graduated summa cum laude with a degree in American Studies from Yale. Got a full scholarship to Virginia for law school.

He clerked for the 9th Circuit as well as Chief Justice Rehnquist before joining the faculty at UVA Law.

He’s also a big sports guy.

Would hate to miss out on Cards baseball, but I’m, perhaps generously, assuming someone has run the numbers.

SMU is about to get absolutely thumped in basketball for a while. They finished 12th in the AAC last season.

The ACC has a lot of coastlines for hurricanes (now including California !). What does the B1G have? A little sliver of MD and then NJ?

So you think that a university should make decisions with millions of dollars and publicity, reputation, etc at stake WITHOUT bouncing it off their CEOs, OR that those CEOs should clear their schedules in dealing with a large company to make GAMES their highest priority.
