I got about 40% of my base for this year’s bonus. I’d say 30-50% is a pretty standard range. I’ve gotten pretty disciplined around paying my bills + 401(k) max + regular savings out of my salary and banking the bonuses. But the last 3 years have each had a huge purchase — ring, house, wedding — so was really looking forward to an opportunity to replenish the old bank account :(

There are always online casinos. :)

I'm required to take 80 hours furlough between now and October (so basically go without one paycheck, but not necessarily all at once). Thankfully this isn't really an issue for us, but I feel for folks who are more check-to-check.

We'll see in the coming fiscal year if additional steps are taken.

My salary is the same, but I have a six figure bonus opportunity each year. Typically earn 80%-120% of that....will get 0% of it for 2020.

My wife's salary has been reduced to 80%. The entire company went to 80% time. And her bonus opportunity is shot.

The elusive sort-of humble brag

Do it before July 31st so you get that sweet stimulus $1,000/week unemployment check

Not all of us whose politics match our responses.
I’ll get by. I am paying for all of my 20-something employees, but only because I’ve had an unusually good first two months this calendar year.
No thanks to, and probably in spite of, little d-boy.

Isn't it age discrimination to just pay your employees who are 20 something?

Actually hasn't affected our job at all other than working remotely. We could have qualified for PPP loan but we jointly decided that we just didn't feel good about it.

Lost my job last week. Our CFO is gone too, among many others.

Pirsig, you really are pathetic. A couple of months ago, you thought I was wishing you ill. Today, you neg repped me for either offering empathy to booradley or joking with a friend of much longer than you've been alive. I can guaran-damn-tee 1976 thought it was a funny play on words. I'm certain his lovely wife would too (I've known her since 1973 as well).

You're blind, irrational, childish hatred and blindness is not very becoming as well as being incredibly off base each time you try to understand anything.

Did you not read my post where I said I might lose my income this summer due to low enrollment?

I'm not sure what your joke was but I thought it was kind of insensitive on a thread where people are talking about struggling with their job. Especially the younger posters on here.

Sorry if I offended you with my negrep, but it just seemed pretty tone deaf. I didn't mean to hurt you in return.

It had NOTHING to do with you or anyone other than 1976DEAC...

It was DIRECTLY after his post and used the language FROM his post.

It didn't "hurt" me. It once again illustrated that YOU have no clue. You see my name and look for the worst possible meaning. Even if that meaning doesn't exist. This is NOT the first time you have done this.

You should look at yourself and ask why you feel the need to act this way. You could be a lot happier and have a lot more fun if you didn't do this over and over and not just towards me.

man, fuck you.

seriously.

maybe i'm a little stressed out because I might not be able to afford my rent this summer. maybe that has an effect on how people think about shit, rj.

then i come to this thread and you drop what looks like yet another patented, fucking hilarious millennial-so-needy rj "joke" and it just wasn't the time or place for me to take it. i said i was sorry if i misinterpreted it and you fucking double down and lecture me?

how fucking clueless are you? all this because i took away your fake internet points? i'm concerned about my fucking bank account, rj. numbers that might fuck up my life, dude.

this is a thread about people potentially struggling financially during the coronavirus and you have yet-a-fucking-gain made it all about you. holy shit. incredible.

i think you led a really cool life judging from your stories, but your years on this fucking board seem to have been an awful decline into psychological projection and just an incredible amount of insecurity. this over a negrep? seriously?

go fuck yourself.

Step away from the keyboard and take a deep breath. I am sorry for your situation as I'm sure everyone here is, but this is an internet message board for people with a general association with a college. Let's all try to take it down a notch.

in two posts now rj has demonstrated that he doesn't give a shit about my situation. if he wants to make this thread about him again, i'm going to give him the internet attention he craves so damn much.
