COVID-19 Mafia Game Thread: The Citizens Stopped the Virus!

The citizens almost died out, but they finally lynched The Virus (Juice) that had been co-opted by Big Business for nefarious purposes. In doing so, they saved humanity.

Townie was:

• Xi Jinping
o Xi is the President of China, a country constantly at odds with the United States. He knows that Western leaders question his motives and methods. However, after an initial cover-up, he has led an efficient response to the virus.
o Knowledge
 No special knowledge at the start of the game.
o Special abilities
 There is no question you are committed to stopping the virus. The health and safety of the largest nation on Earth depends on it. As a result, once during the game you can send me a PM with a name and I will inform that player via PM that you are aligned with stopping the virus.
o Win condition
 Xi wins if the virus is stopped.


BBD was:
• Italy
o Italy has unfortunately been ravaged by the virus. Italian citizens spread word of its horrors so that other nations could prepare for the virus before it overwhelmed them.
o Knowledge
 No special knowledge at the start of the game.
o Special abilities
 As the nation that sounded the alarm on COVID-19, you have consistently looked out for the best interests of your country and the world. Therefore, you are the doctor. You can send the name of one player to protect from a hit each night. You may not protect the same player two nights in a row.
o Win condition
 Italy wins if the virus is stopped.
o Secret
 Italy is a fake doctor with no actual ability as the country tried to sound the alarm, but it was not actually able to convince other nations until it was too late.


Juice was:
• The Virus
o You are a strain of COVID-19. You have no thoughts or beliefs. You just are.
o Knowledge
 No special knowledge at the start of the game. Once you are found, you will join that player’s faction and allow them to control your destructive capability. You will learn the names of the other players on that team unless that faction is Stop the virus aligned (citizens). In that case, other factions can still attempt to find you.
o Special abilities
 You are a virus and can’t exactly talk. As a result, you may only post once per day before day 6.
o Win condition
 The Virus wins if the team it joins wins.

Well done, civs. Gouda crushed it. And Gooner was a huge help to civs by inadvertently getting 3 mafia killed trying to hit him.

Juice - you played very well once recruited (and I think after your post restriction was likely done).

We actually recruited him because we believed he could be the White House Press Conference (similar to what BBD said) and as such, could be recruited by Big Business (obv), Socialists (Bernie wins election?), and Burn the World Down (Trump?).
