Caitlin Clark, y'all.
And Morgoth came.“Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the gate:
‘To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods,
LETS HAVE A DAY BOYS WOOOOOOO!
"I swear, this never happens! Give me 30 minutes and we can go again." -MorgothAnd Morgoth came.
Horatius gets the glory and renown, but how badass is it when Spurius Larcius comes forward and is like "I will have your right side" and Herminius of Titian blood was like "And I will have thy left." I get chills every time, better than the Expendables. And Morgoth came.
True, but there’s an undeniable tradeoff there - our hustle & grind economy is leading to a technical hyperfocus on efficiency and convenience at the expense of qualityOTOH, you don't have to wonder how long it's going to take to get your check when you're chugging your drink and boarding.
There’s a brewery here that does it that way. Either order at the bar or through your phone. We were there St Patrick’s for a couple drinks and dinner, ordered on our phone, and waited 35 min before we were told it would be another 50. Big oof and we dipped. This trend at airport bars of ordering and prepaying on your app needs to die.
There is zero incentive to put out decent food or provide a basic level of service.
That’s not true at all, air travel is one of the most grievous examples of micro-commodification. The only innovations in commercial flying in the past 20 years are that every single fucking element about flying that was ever enjoyable or even convenient has been commodified. You can’t even buy two tickets next to each other without paying extra, it’s insanity.Nothing new for the air travel industry though.
