That comment from Hatch is fucking stupid. There should be no fucking difference between Duke's or Notre Dame's ability to annually field competitive in revenue sports and Wake's. Sure they have more students than Wake does, but all three are relatively small, private schools with extremely high academic standards...the main difference in the last 5 or 6 years seems to be a commitment from the upper administration to pursue excellence in athletics and academics concurrently.

And Sailordeac is correct. As a high schooler in the 90's in New York, Tim Duncan and Randolph Childress made Wake a lot more attractive than places like Bucknell and whoever the hell was on their basketball team.

This. So much this. Why some of these academics insist on keeping their heads firmly in their asses and don't acknowledge this fact is beyond absurd.

i've been fishing with some good fishermen many, many times....same boat, right next to them.

and i have no idea what makes a good fisherman vs a not good fisherman.

It's obviously too early to be hating significantly on Manning, but ever since Pat Kelsey got the Winthrop job I've had the hope that he would prove himself and find his way to the head job at Wake

Why is it surprising? The administration is nothing if not arrogant living in their, increasingly isolated, bubble of a fiefdom. No accountability Will do that for you. They survived the [Redacted] fiasco.
 
Manning shows promise. That's it...time will tell.
 
mostly recruiting at this point. his player have great potential and we need to give him time to develop them. game coach is average at this point
