Larry Shyatt is the head coach at Wyoming.
Yea and he was an assistant to Billy D at Florida from 04 - 11 after getting canned at Clemson.

I think most people would agree with that point, but have moved on to talking about whether Manning will be a good coach for Wake Forest.
If he ends up being good it won't change the fact that Wellman made his second shitty hire in a row. But the fact that Manning was an objectively shitty hire doesn't negate the small positive signs he has demonstrated thus far.
I haven't seen anything that makes me believe Manning is going to be our next Skip or Odom (though I certainly am hopeful that he will be), but I have seen signs that Manning is capable of leaving the program in a significantly better spot than he found it.
Ben Howland @ Miss. State. They are awful this year, but will be really good next year with a top 5 recruiting class.

It would be almost impossible for that not to be the case and because of that, it is not something on which I will judge any Wake Forest basketball coach.
So because two experienced recruiters with shady backgrounds pull in huge recruiting classes at SEC schools that becomes the expectation for what our third year coach should be pulling in at Wake Forest?
I dont think it would be a bad idea for Manning to find a former college HC to be one of his assistants - like Steve Robinson / Bobby Lutz / Larry Shyatt. Someone like that would bring a tremendous amount of in-game coaching experience that would go a long way to overcoming some of the problems.
Good means better than mediocre, right?
Yeah, I didn't really see evidence of that last season. I haven't watched a single minute of basketball this season though, so I cannot make any judgments on the first 3 games.
You don't hear about the assistants doing anything.I agree with this. Assistants haven't been noticeably productive yet.
I mean Pearl has always been known as an exceptional recruiter. And given Auburn's recent history he just landed an exceptional class. Finding the one outlier doesn't negate the point that an expected class for a P5 school with our track record the last 5 years is probably pretty similar to the 2016 class.
Anyone who can bring a top 5 class to Starkville HAS to be doing something illegal.
Danny Manning credibility watch my ass…
Now talk shit about Danny Manning you opinionated jerks! Geez, seems to be doing a great job to me and I thing Indiana will 2nd that opinion..
Really questionable to not put a man on the ball with 3.2 seconds left. Even if you deflect the jump ball, which we did, it could easily still end up in an opponent's hands for a junk jumper. I just think it is foolish to allow the inbounder a free look down the court. It worked out tonight, but it will still make me uneasy if we do that next time around in a similar situation.
Or we could just be irrational and SUPPORT OUR COACH no matter what he does or what decisions he makes. That's an option too, I suppose.
