Democratic Candidates for POTUS, 2016 edition

Bernie Sanders – Verified account ‏@SenSanders

America is not supposed to be about 20 people owning more wealth than the bottom 120 million Americans - half of our population.

That is what f America IS all about. It's about anyone being able to amass as much wealth as their mind and body allows. It's called f Capitalism!!! Now, should the playing field be even, absolutely. Anyone with a f brain knows that is often not the case. Should the rich pay their equal amount of taxes, etc. Absolutely. And if humane, be as philanthropic as possible. But anyone who denounces anyone their rewards, even monetarily, for working hard, achieving success should take their socialist ass out of America and go live somewhere where their lazy, unmotivated asses will be taken care of.

Young bkf, we do have a serious Hilary supporter on board now. Feel free to engage him in all of your wildest fantasies and conspiracy theories.

Pop, 20 people work harder than 120 million people combined?

Work hard. I don't think anybody claims contributing to society leads to big money.

what do hedge fund contribute to society?

provide good risk adjusted returns (at least for sharp hedge funds) for pension funds, college endowments, other investment entities that benefit a larger collection of individuals?

provide high paying jobs?

pay lots of taxes to government (even w/ carried interest loophole on performance fees)?

First of all, I'd bet that it's 90+% the same speech each market segment. It would be logical for anyone to give basically the same speech to all bankers, to all commencements, to all groups in the same industry.

Next, the price is what the market bears. Hell, Lewis Black gets up to $150,000 for corporate events. Jon Stewart would get more. Hell in 2012, Keanu Reeves got paid a minimum of $250,000 for a personal appearance (http://www.businessinsider.com/cele...e-range-of-250000-to-350000-per-appearance-14). Hell, even Kevin Federline charged $300,000.

Trump gets $1,500,000 for a speaking engagement.

The concept that Hillary charged an outrageous amount of money is ludicrous.

It's also ludicrous to think that for $225,000 anyone would get extra access when anyone with the money and an event could have hired her for evening. Plus, due to the insane CU ruling, she'll be raising multiple billions for the race. $225,000 is 1/50th of 1% of $1B.

I thought capitalism was evil ?

Most people contribute minimum to society. Its just the accumulation of a billion slightly more than zero contributions that when combined together mean something.

Bernie Sanders has done an unbelievable job spinning to his supporters the results of this primary season. It has been a pretty sound 13-15% beat down but some Sanders supporters really think that it has been close. And that the Democratic party rules have gone against them. Or that voting fraud has cost them the nomination. Or that that Sanders is the more electable general election candidate. It's amazing really.

There is nothing surprising about this. Bernie has been talking about the elite components of our society (economic and political) since the very beginning of the campaign, if not for his entire career in public service. He has been remarkably successful at bringing to light the bizarre rules of the Democratic party's nomination process and how it favors the political elite. In my voting life time, there has never been such widespread and transparent discussion about Party nominating rules and superdelegates etc. I believe that Sander's objectives include the long term goal of making the nomination process more democratic and he and his campaign are therefore continuing to push the narrative of archaic primary voting rules, etc. making it nearly impossible for an upstart campaign to be successful. I agree that the fraud claims take it a bit too far though and start to sound like delusional sour grapes.

A map of Bernie vs HRC counties so far
337Cevh.png

That looks like a population density map of America, frankly. Nearly every large population center is blue on that map.

The map is as useless as when the GOP says "We win many more counties and states." Of course the counties and states the GOP and Bernie win have far fewer people that the ones they lose.

If you are selling a product do you want to own 70% of the market that is equal per capita in every county in KS, OK, AR, WY, AK, UT, WV, ND, SD, ME, IA, ID, MT or Cook County, Dekalb County, the counties in NYC, LA County, Philadelphia County, Allegheny County, Harris County (TX), the counties around Miami, Dallas, Seattle and SF?

Maps like the ones above are moronic,
