fence rider moving BuzzOut...

We don't have any talent. McKie is a good ACC player and CJ above average and that's it right now. Besides lacking talent we lack size. Nikita is maybe the worst player I've ever seen start in a wake jersey in a game that wasn't senior night. TC is at best a serviceable back up. It's hard to judge anything with these guys on the floor. We're running an offense, we've cut down on turn overs but we can't defend very well and we may be the worst rebounding team I've ever seen.

I'm closer to BuzzIn right now and I was definitely BuzzOut last year, but it's impossible to judge him with what we bring to the table.

Well, it didn't happen overnight, but the process probably began when Skip & Dino sat down and made a conscientious decision to start recruiting non-student dropout thugs with little or no character.

And boom goes the dynamite.

Bobknightfan, I'm sure that is exactly how it played out. But just an FYI, both Teague and Johnson came/come from stable two parent homes. But continue to craft narratives you fucking create in your old pickled head and believe them and state them as fact/opinion. You just old fuddy duddy yourself even further into metal detector land.

Cue ChrisL, Millhouse, Hulka et al to bash you for defending Buzz. Wake has top talent, more talent than anyone, and buzz is the worst coach and human being in the world. He's such a terrible person that he even wears ugly ties. Oh noes!!! Don't you know that yet?

First, I can't figure out how we got outplayed last night. If you watched the game, you saw great shooting from the arc from H Pt. especially in the second half. At least three of HPU's triples came from NBA range. I mean Barbour made 7 threes and I think all were in the second half.

Second, here's the flip side to the same coin. I posted this last night but seems relevant again.

Looking at the stats we did several things very well.

It was a 72 possession game and we had only 13 turnovers, well below the 20% cutoff for success there.

We had 19 assists on 28 made baskets, well above the 60% mark for success in that area.

We shot 75% from the stripe. Any time you hit more than 73% from the stripe you've had success. FG shooting was terrific at 58.3 from the floor and 59.1 from the arc. Those numbers are the definition of success.

Our guys stepped up and hit big shot after big shot to answer every HPU run, and did it, as Skip would say, in an environment that was a "cauldron of emotion."
Rebounding is the obvious bugaboo with this team and it won't improve until next year when we get some wide bodies in the paint.

I'm just glad we aren't suffering embarrassing losses like we did to the horrible quadrilateral last year. Hope it keeps up and we can steal a few ACC wins along the way.

Nice use of QUADRILATERAL. Buzz should understand specialists with his NBA background. If he can get into Green's head that he is gonna play 8-10 minutes a game, and instead of measuring success like most young players by MADE shots, his JOB IS TO GRAB 3 rebounds in those 8-10 minutes. Just 3, any 3.

He does that and our rebounding goes from -6 to even in a hurry. Never understood how young guys don't get their roles down. Green is green but I think he's capable of grabbing a freakin' rebound every few minutes.

Also, Ty Walker in his 5-10 minutes a game has to be good for 1-2 more boards. I mean, really.

i don't bash people for being buzzin or buzzout. i bash people who are fucktards.

fucktard...

59% from the arc may be a measure of success, but to me it's doesn't really translate to a team that is playing well in any part of the rest of it's game. It is statistically at one end of the possibilities. IMO it means a team has had a hot night and got lucky that the ball was dropping.

A team shooting that well (add the FT% to the mix) and blowing out a bad team or beating a tough opponent means success. A team shooting that well and barely beating HP? That means there are major problems and we got lucky to win...and barely avoided that embarrassing loss...having to hit lots of big shots to do it.

Rebounding has been an issue of every college team Bzz has coached, regardless of size. Losing 12-2 on offensive rebounds is being totally out-hustled on the floor. That is starting to disturb me.

Shooting FTs and keeping TOs down is great. Mid mid-majors do that. I'm glad we're finally getting to that point. I'm increasingly concerned we will not get much beyond that. I expected to see a team playing much better than last year so I understand why BuzzOuters are leaning "in", but I'm not seeing improvements in areas that Bzz is known to have issues and I guess that's what bothers me.

I think he probably meant JTT, Ari and Tabb. If he didn't then he's absolutely wrong. Teague, nor Johnson was a thug. In fact I don't hold any ill will towards either one of them for leaving. You go to college to one day make money, and they made a lot of it.

Now Teague constantly sulking...yeah that was freaking annoying.

We scored 87 points and only had only 13TOs and that's considered bad?

Buckets, yes, if we aren't at least a bubble team next year, [Redacted] there is no justification to keep him.

Look at the way Buzz dresses. It's enough to make one firmly BuzzOut without even discussing his coaching. He even looks like a loser.

I get it that you fucktards had you're feelings hurt when Wellman didn't hire a big name coach that you could brag about around the water cooler. That much is obvious. If you're pissed about the hire, bash Wellman, it was his idea. Denigrating buzz in the ugly fashion that you guys have done is pitiful, childish, stupid, and ridiculous, but I've seen nothing from the terrible triumvirate of ChrisL, the L stands for LOWF, Millhouse, and Hulka to expect anything different.

Yes, now go call Lobo an idiot on another thread. Why should anybody take anything you say seriously when you are such a blatant hypocrite?

Hey ChrisL, the L stands for LOWF, I'll call you an idiot on this thread, but that would be unkind to actual idiots. You're far worse. As I've said before, you should put down the left handed cigarettes, come out from your Mother's basement, and be a decent human being for once.

My problem with scoring 87 points and only 13 TO's is that it took 59% shooting from both the field and from 3-point range... and we only won by 4. Shooting that well doesn't happen very often, but when it does I would expect that we would win by a lot more. Nikita was 3-3 from 3. If he misses one of those (which, c'mon, is more likely than not), we possibly lose this game since it is unlikely we would have gotten the rebound (only 2 offensive rebounds all game?!?). I'm thrilled that we won, but at least from looking at the stat sheet, it doesn't make me any more optimistic about the rest of the season.

Ahh, the guy with the red dot by his name doesn't like me!!!!!

Dude, we were playing with 7 scholly players last night.

Seven.

Lets not start a new thread everytime someone has a thought about Bz, OK?

7 scholarship players? plenty of teams (-cough-duke-cough) play against good teams with a 7 player rotation. i would be worried playing an acc game with only 7 players but its high -f-ing point. i miss the days when a high point win was 1 - never in doubt and 2 - barely even mentioned. now it's a big win.

Who is coming in next season to rebound besides Thomas?

I'm beginning to think that all this talk about "team distraction" and "team culture" and "bad apples" was more distracting and damaging than the actual problems we had.

When you finally accept that those talking points are revisionist bullshit, your transformation to the BuzzOut side will be complete.
