Game of Thrones Season 3 TV Thread (for non-readers)

I did think it was somewhat obvious that something at the wedding would go wrong. I assumed (incorrectly, apparently) that Robb would be heavily armed/guarded (he is/was the KING, after all), even at this wedding.

So when the doors closed, the music changed, and Catelyn saw the armor, I thought there was going to be a battle. Did not anticipate a slaughter. That's what shocked me.

So was the groom banging it out while all of the killing happened? They never went back to him. I hope he was!

I was wondering the same thing myself. I did not understand the bedding ritual. Robb said something about Ned not having one because he didn't feel there should be broken jaws at his wedding, which led me to think that it's some kind of gigantic gang bang.

Also, the guy who wore the body armor under his regular clothes-- have we seen him before? These tangential characters that show up now and then don't really stick in my craw.

yes, that is Roose Bolton, he and his people had been fighting with the Starks. I don't know or can't remember why he would have done this. He is also the one who stabbed Robb.

edit: I think Roose is married to a Frey girl.

He also met with Jaime at Harrenhal and told Jaime to give his father his regards and not hold Jaime losing his hand against the Boltons.

No, but Ned would have punched the guys who tried to carry him off to "boink" his wife.

They didn't show it too well in the episode, but the bedding ceremony involves the crowd stripping the bride and groom nekkid on the way to the bed.

Yep that did this same ceremony in the The Borgias on Showtime for anyone that watches that.

I just caught up on the whole season over the last couple of weeks. I had to speed up to catch the last ep because it was just getting more and more difficult to avoid spoilers for the finale. Even intentionally avoiding GoT media, I still knew there was a "Red Wedding" with a lot of deaths. Fortunately I didn't know who, but I was deprived of an "OH SHIT" moment.

That's enough kvetching. Great season, great stories, great acting. Really really great acting. No one seems to give much love to Charles Dance (Tywin) but he just owns every scene he's in, as he does for any of his work.

It is incredibly well acted except for that broad that is Tywin's hooker/lover. She's dreadful. But it's a credit to the show and its actors that it can make even the Lannisters seem sympathetic at times. When Jaime showed up at King's Landing tonight all haggard and handless, I actually was happy he was back and happy for his sister-fucking relationship. WTF? His character has come a long way this year.

I believe the actress who plays Shae was actually a pornstar in the past.

The Boltons sure have become a lot more prominent in a mere two episodes. As he mentioned, Robb did go against Lord Bolton's advice on multiple occasions, and I guess he just had enough/wanted money and more power. Didn't he originally advise Robb to kill Jaime? Not to break his vow with the Freys? Not to kill Lord Carstark? I was really mad at first, but Robb really was an idiot.

I don't think she was a porn "star" but she did some porn. It came out AFTER she won some award for mainstream film in Germany and was a bit of a scandal. I actually saw Head On years ago and it's very good. It took me forever to figure out where I knew her from when she first appeared in Thrones.
