Home Game VS Utah St

The pitiful little Bowls help pay for new facilities, allows us to hire better coaches. If we don't fill the Bowl slots, that's money lrft on the table.

Most schools lose money on bowl games, especially ones where you won't sell your whole ticket allotment

We want to go to bowl games. But going 2-6 with 4 OOC wins over cupcakes isn't going to be substantial.

The effect of annual bowl games on recruiting is not insubstantial.

This is the best argument. Their best value is a prestige play. With very few exceptions you're the only game going on when you're playing. Good platform for the program.

And players want that swag

This. Once you get to bowls on an annual basis, it doesn't really matter that much which bowls you go to or whether you win or lose. Just being able to say that you have been to ____ bowls in a row is a great selling point to recruits.

Right. And going to a bowl doesn't make you a good team. And if the program doesn't take advantage of the bowl, it's set to waste it.

But missing out on a bowl means you really suck, or worse.

We should play Army or Navy every year. Tulane and rice are the only non big 5 schools that I believe should be on our schedule.

Seems like vandy, nw, Purdue, Stanford, Baylor, TCU are natural opponents.
