Ah, yes. The famous "public corruption" grand jury in Travis County that only indicts Republicans and never gets convictions that withstand any actual legal scrutiny. What a joke.
Don't think Perry has a shot at being President or even the 2016 GOP nominee, but personally I'd prefer a broad GOP field. if the wing nuts and wannabes split up the primary vote, it makes it easier for someone rational and reasonable to emerge. There isn't enough room for multiple "moderate" 'Pubs in the field and early convergence around a single Tea Party or social conservative candidate isn't good.
Never get a conviction, but ol' Ricky boy is the gift that keeps on giving.
After watching him on Fox this morning, Rick Perry is a fucking moron. If people want him in charge of anything other than his glasses and respiration that's their right, but you're simply are not listening to this clown.
Agree there's no chance of a conviction, but the interview was really odd. He started odd defiant, but increasingly became kind of nervous. He deliberately slowed down his cadence and it seemed like he was just concentrating on getting the words out rather than the content of the best possible answer. The guy's been Governor of a huge state for more than a decade and he still can't think on his feet and struggles in an interview on friendly grounds. Can't imagine how he thinks he has a chance to be President.

Fortunately, as President, one simply has to read off a teleprompter. Problem solved!
