How much do you tip your barber?

$10 on whatever it is.

But that's because she always includes a 5 minute neck massage, hot towel, etc. It's like going to sports clips except not shitty.

$6 on $34 for an even $40.

And she prefers to be called a "Men's Hair Specialist," not a barber.

I'm more interested in how much guys actually pay their barber or whatever you call it. The range so far is $10-34, with a pretty good bell around 12-15.

I went to The Grooming Lounge once - 10 days before my wedding - and dropped $65 on a haircut. Turned out to be the exact same fucking cut I would've gotten at Supercuts for $16.

$15 seems low for a good haircut in my experience. It took me a long time to find a guy who could cut my hair well and consistently the same way.

Are ya'll going to a franchise place or a local person and how often?

I come from strong, hairy, Slavic stock, and my hair grows in approximately 400 different directions. I only get it cut like 3-4X a year, when I buzz it all off. In between that time it grows into a glorious curly mess.

I've found black barbershops are the only ones that have any idea what to do with my hair. Thankfully I live in Philly and black barbershops are tremendous places full of joy, wonder, and cheap haircuts.
