It won't just be the Israelis. The Saudis are going to be pissed about this deal too I suspect.

It won't much matter. The administration opposed upping the now current sanctions that were passed 100-0 in the Senate. You'll see lots of blow back on this deal from both sides of the aisle.

The Israel issue is going to be a sticking point for a while - they do not have a treaty obligation to allow Iran to possess peaceful nuclear industry. The United States on the other does have that obligation. What Israel wants and is lobbying for is something the USA and the rest of the Security Council cannot deliver.

It's amazing people are bitching about something they din't know anything about. This agreement allows US, German, French, British and other inspectors to go to each of Iran's facilities every single day for the next six months. This is a lot more stringent than we had.

That is not completely true.

IAEA inspectors (who come from a broad group of nations, not just the ones you listed) will have daily access to Natanz and Fordow. They will have "more frequent access" and more technical information about Arak and other sites - but not full additional protocol inspection on demand rights.
 
My mistake, but it's still much greater access than we have.
 
The impact is the same. The US, the UN and IAEA have never had full and unfettered access to the centrifuges and other facilities on a continuing basis.
 
Vad, thanks for that very informative post. As someone with no knowledge in this area, I wonder why we can't just build them one of the 5% ones in exchange for them agreeing to ditch the old retrofitted one. It's gotta be more efficient anyway, right?

Fuck diplomacy, We haven't invaded anyone in a while. Let's do that and draft all those who think it's a waste to negotiate with them.
 
So it seems like John Kerry is the kind of SOS who's going to try to fix every problem in the word, but do it half assed. Where as HillDog only fought battles she thought she could win and tried to stay away from anything that could hurt her '16 POTUS bid.

Will be interesting to see which philosophy is more effective.
