Iran Nuclear Deal Reached

http://www.upi.com/Top_News/Special...ed-for-US-missile-defense/UPI-44801386945632/

http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/14/world/meast/iran-monkey-space/

So Obama's deal that supposedly was so great, has already been violated. They were supposed to halt the development of long range missiles. So on the day that Putin gives a speech wanting the US to get rid of its missile defense programs because "Iran's nuclear weapons program is going away", Iran launches a monkey into space aboard a long range missile. I wonder where they laugh at us harder, Tehran or Moscow? I for one am shocked that Iran hasn't stopped. I really trusted them.

Did you even read the first article?

"Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov said Friday the U.S. need to contain Iran with a missile defense problem is "no longer valid."
The U.S. government says it needs a missile defense system in Eastern Europe to protect the region from threats emanating from North Korea and Iran. Meshkov said last month's interim nuclear deal between Iran and its Western negotiating partners suggested the risk from Iran was eliminated.

"We have always heard from our [U.S.] partners that their reasons for taking steps to build the missile defense system were over concerns about Iran's nuclear program," he was quoted as saying by state news agency RIA Novosti. "Now, [as] we see it, those concerns are no longer valid."

This says the deal harms Iran so much our planned nuclear shield is no longer needed.

Re: the second articled:

"Iran made a similar announcement in January, saying then that it had launched the first monkey into space, strapped snugly into a rocket, and returned it safely to Earth.

That announcement was met by skepticism by some.

U.S. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters then that while she saw pictures of "the poor little monkey," the United States doesn't "have any way to confirm this (happened), one way or another."

There is no way to confirm either launch happened and the announcement about the first one was "met by skepticism"

READING IS FUNDAMENTAL....of course Mike being brainwashed by crazy RWers is too.

My comprehension is fine, not sure about yours though. Maybe you need a picture. There are claims that we no longer need missile defense because this great agreement has ended Iran's long range missile program. They launch a missile into space. Obviously they have not stopped working on long range missiles. Space is pretty high. Maybe you could go outside tonight and try to throw a baseball at the ISS. (And obviously we have the technology going 24 hours a day monitoring every launch on the planet of anything bigger than a Testor's rocket. If it didn't happen we would say so. We wouldn't say we can't confirm it. And before you start the accuracy argument, if Iran launched a nuclear missile does it really matter that much how accurate it is ? Its going come down somewhere.)
But this will be Barak Obama's legacy in the history of the world. Now that he has allowed Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia and Turkey are already taking steps to acquire their own. Israel has them, so do Pakistan and India. I am sure the nuclearization of a such a historically calm and peaceful region of our planet will end with the best results.

How are those black helicopters doing that are hovering over your house?

As the only person posting here who has the foggiest clue about nuclear issues, if you believe we are letting Iran get a weapon you are straight up fucking stupid.

There's nothing you can say that will convince Mike or several others that what have posted is true, Your expertise and inside knowledge is irrelevant as it contradicts "Obama is evil, weak and incompetent".

+1. And I'm pretty sure they didn't crank up their nuclear program when Obama was inaugurated...

And just how are we going to stop it? Short of an all out war with Iran (which obviously is not going to happen), there is nothing that is going to stop them. They will have them and probably soon.

Isn't that what the Obama critics want? A war? If there is no possible diplomatic solution to the problem, then the only alternatives are (a) let them have the bomb, which Obama haters say they don't want, or (b) blow them up, which Obama haters pretend they don't want but really enjoy saber rattling about?

Seems to me that the critics either have to just come out and say they want to bomb Iran (which to his credit, John McCain has pretty much admitted) or shut up and let the administration do the best diplomatic work it can. There is no way to conduct diplomacy by a committee of 100 pompous assholes.

89 has wet dreams about America failing so his hatred can be "justified".

They have been probably having them soon for around three decades

Let's assume a worst case scenario: Iran develops nuclear weapons. Is there any evidence to think that they have developed nuclear weapons for any other reason than to deter an attack on them? I don't think so. From an Iranian perspective they live in a dangerous area, where they have been attacked by their neighbors, are in perpetual cultural conflict with their neighbors, and several of these neighbors have nuclear weapons: Pakistan and Russia. Several others nearby also have nuclear weapons: India and Israel, and one neighbor, which has attacked them (Iraq), has tried in the past to develop nuclear weapons. The US, which is definitely a hostile nuclear power, has a huge military presence in Iran's immediate vicinity (Iraq, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean).

Nuclear proliferation is not a good thing under any circumstances. But is our obsession with Iran's nuclear program warranted?

Are they an eminent threat to nuke the USA? No

Are we going to be have to deal with the aftermath of them getting one and Israel and S.A. crushing them? Yes

Pre-emptive strike.

That's just crazy talk, meant mostly for domestic consumption; just like Ahmadiejad's anti-Israeli tirades were. No sane person would launch nuclear weapons based on speculation. You could probably kill every living thing in a small country like Israel with just one or two well-placed retaliatory bombs. Who would risk that?

We launched two based on speculation of the losses required to defeat Japan.

This isn't the USA and Russia. Then, both sides cared if they lived. These people consider destroying Israel and martyrdom their ticket to paradise, and the Israelis know that and aren't about to let them fulfill their dream.
