Iraq 3.0

Thank you for your generous welcome.

You are right, I was dogmatic and narrow-minded when I wore the garb of the naive socialist collectivist neophyte. Since breaking the associated chains of guilt and self-loathing, I have embraced my individualism, my power and potential in my own life as a producer and decision-maker for myself and my family. But, it is difficult not to take a hard right turn when your eyes are opened to the filthy hands sticking out around every corner asking for something for nothing. I don't see it as dogmatic and narrow-minded from this angle - but rather focused, efficient, and sensible.

Life's too short to care about others, you gotta get yours and you gotta get out. Glad you saw the light brother. Get the government's dirty hands off my parents' well-earned money. I worked too hard for the government to just take my inheritance away from me.

What we need to do is get our EU allies to stand behind us with Qatar tell the Qataris that if they send any more money or weapons to ISIS or Hamas that we will do everything we can to strip them of the World Cup and cut defense aid to them.

LOL at the US having any influence with FIFA.

Interesting timing on the Iraq front I think...shortly after they say "we're coming for Christians now, you're next" America decides to jump in wholeheartedly. Of course when they were just killing other Muslims we didn't give a fuck.

Can't tell if trolling or not.

Maybe we could just ask our tens of thousands of servicemen in Qatar to deliver the message in person?

Oh poor Bake. You actually can't see the irony of your troll.

We certainly didn't care too much when ISIS was just killing other Muslims.

Maybe. Just maybe it is because most Americans identify themselves as Christian and not Muslim. Just a shot in the dark.

Or because they were threatening to overrun the most stable government in the whole region.

I do agree that this was an issue, but by the same token they've been coalescing power and running amok for a while now and we didn't care up until now. I just think it's interesting timing is all. I do agree with you District.

And basing foreign policy on religious ideologies is fucking idiotic. That's all I'll say to that Wrangor, even if it is true.

The Kurds are mostly Muslim. Even Sunni Muslim, just like ISIS. Its just that they are also our boys. And large numbers of the Yazidi served as translators for us during our time in the country.

I wouldn't say we haven't "cared" about ISIS until now. You have a weird blind spot with religion.

As far as I know Obama didn't make any public statements about ISIS or threaten to drone them until after they moved south, threatening Christians as being next after Muslims.

May just be correlation doesn't equal causation but it's certainly curious timing IMO.

I do realize that a lot of this has to do with the invasion into areas of Kurdistan, but it's not like I'm just making the religious connection up. ISIS invades the largest Christian city in Iraq three days ago and all of a sudden it's on like Donkey Kong. May just be coincidental timing, I suspect that it isn't though.

And hey it's not like we're alone, France didn't make a statement about anything regarding taking action that I can find any report about until a couple days ago:

"France is highly concerned about the latest progress of ISIS in the North of Iraq and by the taking of Qaraqosh, the largest Christian city of Iraq, and the horrible acts of violence that are committed," French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said in a statement."

They have however worked with Obama closely throughout the crisis:

Again, maybe just all coincidental timing and I'm reading into something that isn't there.

My newly uncovered instincts tell me to support blasting the fuck out of this group of assholes.

But when I extrapolate the core ideals of conservatism, I begin to wonder: at some point we need to stop bailing out the natives of these countries militarily and let them overthrow these extremists on their own. They know we will come and bail them out, so they become dependent on America instead of helping themselves.
