IRS "loses" Lois Lerner e-mails from illegal targeting scandal

The problem is that's of no use. The "evidence" that wasn't preserved wasn't in question when it crashed.

Oh. My. Goodness

So if nobody else knows you did it, it's not suspicious when it gets mysteriously destroyed? #shehasgonefromsucktoblow

Here is what jhmd would have you believe.

1. Lois Lerner destroyed her computer 3 years ago because she knew that there was incriminating evidence on it that might later come up.
2. She was smart enough to destroy the computer and know that this would be the only record of the emails and to destroy it in a matter that was completely not suspicious, and to destroy it knowing that the IT guys at the IRS couldn't recover her file after she went to great lengths to save these emails.
3. However, she wasn't smart enough just to erase the incriminating emails from her outlook, which would have accomplished the same thing and not been suspicious at all.

Chris, exactly!

Woody doesn't understand how ridiculous Gowdy's assertions are. The IRS Commissioner had no idea anything happened. Add to this it was a computer problem and they followed procedure.

Because somehow it's wrong to suggest groups affiliated with the Taxed Enough Already party may be trying to avoid paying taxes.

The main job of the IRS is to get people to pay their dues for living in the US. Why wouldn't they take a closer look at groups set up specifically to get out of paying their dues?

There's this, too. All of these pseudo-PACs should get taxed out of the ass. 501c3 needs to be gutted, IMO.

This jab is brought to you by the weakest link in the right wing human centipede.

There's that, but the conspiracy assumptions seem to forget that the end result of all of this (alleged) trouble and deception was, essentially, nothing. It was a longer form, a closer look if you will, at a tax exempt status.
Why would these people give a shit about that?

And on top of it all, none were denied.

Jesus, the computer crashed and was destroyed THREE YEARS before anyone thought it could be a problem.

Someone needs to channel their internal Joseph Welch towards these proceedings:

Right. So the IRS took a closer look to make sure that organizations set up to be against paying taxes should be tax exempt.

They only denied ONE group...it was a liberal group......
