James Johnson getting paid

Still have vivid memories of his winning layup against Dook. At one point it seemed like his NBA career was over, glad he was able to get serious and buckle down.

Between cash already earned and future guaranteed money, the 2008-2009 Wake bball team has made around $250 million dollars in the NBA... so far. AFA missed the cap jump at last contract, worth way more now.

eta: tim made around $240mm in his career, CP is sitting at around $180mm made and guaranteed right now. Wake players getting close to a billion NBA dollars earned with no final fours, that's gotta be a singular distinction of futility.

What's the lifetime team value for the 08-09 Cleveland State squad?

Happy for all these Wake alums. I don't follow the NBA like many, and prefer college ball, but you can see why many of these kids just crave an NBA shot. The chance for millions, even as a non-all-star, sometime starter, or bench warmer, is ridiculous. You can't blame 'em for leaving when they have a decent chance to get paid.

what's pretty remarkable is that there are no NBA busts from wake, no one contract wonders etc.... quite the contrary most of them outperformed their draft position. james johnson struggled a bit with weight and maturity in the early part of his career and now even he's making 8 figures per. jim boehiem tells his early entrants that they'll be out of the league in 3 years, meanwhile a wake player looks at the NBA alum list and must think this is easy.

even undrafted ish smith has had a better NBA career than the aforementioned former 1st round pick norris cole

How about gimme Justin Gray's career earnings, I got no idea what the European guys get.

Rod Griffin and skip brown say hello

yeah he counts, 1 NBA contract. didn't think of him.

To be fair, to this day I believe he was more injured than he let on. Absolutely dominated a championship college game full of three NBA Hall of Famers. No other explanation why he didn't catch on.

i'm posting off of the dome and my knowledge of wake and nba players is going to be primarily mid-90s on.

Randolph?

Yeah, Randolph was a bust in the NBA
Kenny Green was a bust in the NBA
Rodney Rogers...decent NBA career but he won ACCPOY over Grant Hill; his NBA career was not what many had hoped it would be

WF has definitely turned it around in the last 20 years
