In many ways religion in 2017 is just a way to defend your beliefs behind a set of outdated guidelines. "Vote Roy Moore" seems repulsive on its face, so why not throw in some religious mumbo jumbo to compare it to and make it seem like you have a strong basis for the belief.

Like “freedom” and “personal responsibility”, when you become so obsessed with fighting for them, you are willing to sacrifice them to that effort.

Sorry, but we will enthusiastically allow Alabama and Mississippi secede. We can't let Texas secede because of the oil refineries and Austin. But there is literally nothing in AL & MS that benefits the rest of the 48 states in any way, and y'all are easily net takers when it comes to paying federal taxes and receiving federal dollars in aid.
