LAST US POW RETURNED from the Taliban

Meanwhile, we have a 100+ page thread on being shot by a uniformed police officer. Not so much on the supermajority of populations being born into fatherless homes. But when it comes to terrorism, suddenly we get really and conveniently into percentage of impact. But "we're cutting through the bullshit" and "we're good people." Just ask. Or don't.

What's your plan to decrease the number of children born into fatherless homes?

Oh good lord PH, he's trolling. Why allow him to turn a thread about Bowe Bergdahl into a thread about fatherless homes?

technically, all those kids have fathers. another process JH apparently has no clue about

"Military prosecutors have reached into a section of military law seldom used since World War II in the politically fraught case against Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier held prisoner for years by the Taliban after leaving his post in Afghanistan.

Observers wondered for months if Bergdahl would be charged with desertion after the deal brokered by the U.S. to bring him home. He was — but he was also charged with misbehavior before the enemy, a much rarer offense that carries a stiffer potential penalty in this case."

"[p]olitically fraught" is an interesting little phrase.

Also, when I saw the reference to the enforcement of a "seldom used" law, I thought that was an oblique reference to federal immigration law.

It is an interesting phrase. The similarities between Sgt. Bergdahl's situation and federal immigration law are also interesting.

Political fallout is not admissible evidence. The fact that the media/Administration don't want it to come out shouldn't prevent a prosecution, nor should the fact that people who were against trading 5 bad guys for him lead to an unwarranted prosecution. Either the guy broke standards or he didn't.

I totally agree. This is a binary situation that doesn't need a nuanced resolution.

It needs a thoughtful resolution by people who know what they are doing in the subject matter; not some blogger from the HuffPo spinning for their boy.

We're on the same page. Have a great day.
