The 2-0 Liberty Flames visit WF this Saturday.

The Flames are 2-0 with a 29-27 (the game was 10-10 heading in the 4th quarter) OT win @ Southern Miss, and an ugly 21-14 win over UAB in Lynchburg.

Liberty started the season with 6th year double transfer Charlie Brewer at QB, but he was knocked out against S. Miss. Tennessee transfer Kaidon Salter (Salter was a 4 star coming out of HS) is now the Liberty QB. Like Vandy's starter last week, Salter leads Liberty in rushing and passing. Salter has run for 144 yards (6.3 ypc) and passed for 350 yards (55%; 3 TDs and 1 pick) over the first two games. Teams have been able to run on the Flames as they surrender 5.1 ypc, but Liberty's pass defense has been strong so far 0 TDs surrendered and 3 picks 53% completions through the first two games. Likely a reflection of the quality of opposing QBs faced so far.

WF opened -17 with an O/U of 62.5. The line is now 16.5.

USM actually led against Miami for most of the first half on Saturday before running out of gas in the second half. That's a pretty good road win for Liberty.

Sagarin agrees. He's got Vandy at #98 and Liberty at #82. I expect another blowout win as long as the weather cooperates and allows us to take our normal deep shots, especially with Sam getting to knock some rust off at Vandy.

It's homecoming and Wake hardly ever loses its homecoming game.

Looking for tickets for this one. Wanted to check here before going to Stubhub.

Man, there are some nice seats on stubhub for crazy cheap for this one. I may get rid of mine and upgrade.

Les posted this quote on the other board, pulled from a Liberty press conference today

Liberty senior DL Dennis Osagiede on facing Sam Hartman: "Every quarterback folds under pressure. They have that RPO thing where they hold it & that's cute & all, but at the end of the day if you put pressure in a guy's face, he's going to make some type of indecisive throw."

Not a great spot for WF's A game effort with Clemson on deck, but WF under Clawson wins the games that WF should win.

Agree that Liberty is probably better than Vanderbilt, hope the team doesn't come out flat and we put this one away quick.
