Lobo is a poor OC

This definitely could not have been posted on the other dedicated Lobo thread. You know, the one started by your alter ego.

So he had nothing to do with our 24 points scored in the second half?

Lobo is awful in every respect of the word. Givens bailed him out tonight with his great plays, and Maryland helped out by self-destructing all game long.

That's a little harsh, his second half wasn't bad at all. I thought we over-complicated things for ourselves in the first half, but we got it straightened out and came back with a more aggressive north south (for the most part) approach in the second half and got the ball moving.

So he had nothing to do with our 24 points scored in the second half?

Maybe he finally decided to stop embarrassing himself with his ridiculous playcalls and act like a football coach. If true, why did we have wait 8.95 years to see it?

He's the best we have ever had.

deacfreke will have to go cry into his Jeff Bzdelick shrine at his house tonight.

Coach Lobotzke did a pretty solid job in the 2nd half. Not great, but solid. And he probably is the third best OC we have had in the modern era. But that is a bit like being the tallest midget. After Calhoun and Mackovic, there is not much talent left when it comes to play calling.

Mackovic was 14-20 here.

In the second half tonight when we scored 24 points what would constitute great in your view?

The third quarter third down screen called for Givens from the 12 or so was a play for a FG, no ifs ands or buts. As it turned out, Givens juked a couple of guys and stretched it out to the 1.5 yard line, putting us in position to go for it on 4th, when we got the TD from BP. Givens totally bailed Lobo out on that series and turned a series that Lobo had basically given up on into a TD.

So Lobo had no idea the play had that potential?

This is one of the dumbest criticisms of Lobo I've seen.

Under Lobo, we are scoring more points this year than Calhoun's offense ever did. In fact, this will be the 2nd year that Lobo's offense has scored more than the best Calhoun year.

So, in other words, 7 out of 9 years (78%), his scoring offense has been worse than Calhoun's. It's 9 for 9 (100%) in total offense, in case you were wondering, and I'd daresay he's had more talented casts to work with than Calhoun did.
