You are freaking clueless about practice. Maybe we should bring in some 4.3 guys to help run scout team. It was one game folks. Let's see what our record is after the State game.

And see, like, the overflowing positive stuff bothers me to an extent. That plays into LOWF. This was my favorite: "Do all you guys realize that our team reads this!! ..."

Uh, I'm not going to peruse 2,000-plus members, but I'm fairly confident Justin Strnad and Jamie Newman, etc. aren't reading a WF Facebook group's page.

You'll never convince that one of the 5 most-important things to happen in the 2017 season was sitting a not-100% John Wolford against Clemson, getting him the off week, and having him fully healthy for the second half. Don't think anybody wants to see the alternate universe in which he plays that game, gets chased by that D-line all day and isn't full go for the second half of the season.
 
I know at least one prominent player parent is on that Facebook page and I would be shocked if that parent didn’t report back what they see.

But I don’t think anybody should hold back for that reason.

It was a major wake up call for everybody. I think the shock of going 5-0 against less athletic, poorly coached, and/or strong but not quick teams to playing against Louisville’s speed was too much for our defense. They get a chance against a similar FSU albeit one that is poorly coached.
 
If the players bought into all the commentary on here and elsewhere in August about how Louisville wouldn’t be too good this year then it’s no surprise they were unprepared to meet their competition.

I’m not buying that our D cannot keep up with the speed and quickness of a Louisville if well coached during the game and well prepared beforehand. And the more players buy into the notion of FSU being poorly coached the more likely the Deacs are going to take a knockdown punch early because they’re relying on something totally out of their control.

The veterans better step it up this week.

Clawson said post game they changed up their bye week schedule. It clearly didn't work for the first 20 minutes of the game.
 
Clawson should spend significantly more time with the defensive and special teams coaches and players this week.

Wake’s defense improved as the season progressed last year but still needs a lot more improvement. Time will tell whether Wake needs a new defensive coordinator and:eek:r other changes to the coaching staff. Trust that Clawson will be willing to make changes if necessary to improve the program.

I was thinking we have some athletes that can spy better than Smenda. Rucker, Davis, Jacquez, maybe McCollum.

Carney also cost us after we start the game with a false start. Just a terrible start and Claw needs to find a way to rally the team when shit is not going right.

For instance, we had multiple shit special teams plays. Multiple turnovers. And multiple pass interferences on Louisville going uncalled. We need to find ways to win despite that avalanche of bleak. We almost did.

YES Smenda is not getting it done. Move Mcallam there is wha5 I would do. NOW. Smenda is excellent between the tackles but is not getting to the corner.
 
This board needs the 24 hour rule. So much emotion driven garbage. Kids playing games. Bad shit happened. We lost. Georgia just lost a shot at a national championship. We delayed bowl eligibility. We've been in a ton of one score games. It's how we roll.

I'd forgotten about that group. It's only good for comic relief, especially when kEEPER is in his rope-a-dope routine.
 
A few takes after some time to take in the game as a whole:

Our guys weren't 100% ready to play the game Saturday night. They found themselves and fought like hell and played their asses off to stay in the game. (it would have been so easy to pack it in after the 41 yd qb run for a td on 4th down.) But the NEVER gave up and I love that about these guys. ALL HEART and GUTS!

It's hard to imagine in 2019 with the strength an power that players have today that our kicker could not kick it out of the end zone on almost every kickoff.

Louisville speed was a huge problem for our team, can't believe we didn't prepare better for that.

Too many penalties and turnovers combined with special teams play were our undoing not really our defense. Short fields through T/O's and great kick returns resulted in at least 3 td's I can think of putting our defense in really bad spots.

Satterfield is a helluva coach. Love me some Clawson but he would have fit in well here too!

Louisville PI'd and held our receivers all night long.

We recovered the last onside kick but the game was lost in so many other areas that is really just an afterthought.

Very entertaining game, loved our fight, hope this helps get us refocused because it doesn't get any easier.

Still think we can have a special season with 9 or more wins. 4 straight bowl appearances is awesome. More that any of us could have hoped for given the last place predictions all the talking heads had for us.

if PI is going to go uncalled, maybe it's time to PI and hold the other team's receivers all night long; if the refs call it, then demand they call it both ways
