I mean, that's the only real problem. Drivers are terrible at dealing with bikes/scooters on the road, and sidewalks are a bad place for them. Cities sorta decided that just putting bikes and scooters everywhere was enough urban planning and didn't do the work required to make them a success. They're great in cities that care about making sure they work.
