Manning Buyout Negotiations Have Begun

Not enough perceived value. Lol. “We suck so why spend any extra money?”

I come back after months upon months away, and I still see the same stupid shit that made me want to bounce in the first place.

The Danny Manning contractual bullshit you dupes will buy never ceases to amaze me.

I agree, but it may mean that "not enough money" is cover for the holdouts who don't want to fire Manning. I find it hard to believe Wake can raise $1 billion in six years but Currie can't pull together $15M to fire a very publicly ineffective employee.

Spot on

I heard the same thing just now. On a scale of Deacon Shop employee to Mit Shah my sauce is much closer to the working on the quad end but yeah. I think the mix of ACC Network money and the current leadership makes for a path where there isn’t enough perceived value to buying Danny out.

Or his

Manning should be fired even if the program loses money for the next thirty years. College sports are an amenity. Like cities building parks. Entertain alumni so they give to the real mission of The University. The entertainment value and utility to The University is in the shitter. The money argument is just dumb.

I don't remember where, but there was an "RJ SUCKS" hidden somewhere in this ad.

vtwhat probably has better pics still.

Yeah, vtwhat has a zoomed in version. It's hidden in very tiny font in the tie dye background behind BuzzOut. RJ was a vocal buzz supporter for way too long before seeing the light. Instead of a billboard he wanted people to put toilets (yes, toilets) in the LJVM parking lot.

Sorry, but there is no way there are "holdouts that don't want to fire Manning" without any regards to financial issues. There could very well be some big donors that say "sorry, I'm just not coughing up several million for this." And maybe some in the admin that say "we have better uses for that sort of money - we are not paying that much for someone to just go away." But there is just no way that there is anyone associated with Wake Forest that says "I really want Danny Manning to be the b-ball coach next season." And I would be willing to bet that if the school put together a public and aggressive "let's raise money to buy out our terrible b-ball coach" campaign, they could raise the necessary money. However, we know that is not going to happen.

Then Currie needs to be out on his ass as well. That is his job, it is exactly what he was hired to do. If he can't do that, then he is as incompetent as Manning and Wellman.

Manning Buyout Negotiations Have.... To Be Finished Soon.

Get 'er done, Currie!

I hope the perception or reality of the situation doesn't get out that WFU can't raise 12-15 mil to get rid of a coach. I mean that is absurd. FSU (yes I know they are a lot bigger school) ate 18 mil and didn't even give it a second thought knowing if they didn't make a move, they were going to become irrelevant in football on the scale of Tenn and Nebraska. Hell they may already be there and not coming back.

If Wake can't or won't do anything here maybe the ACC should just boot us out and we could be a Socon team because that sure is the way LOWF is acting.

being in the play-in game for the SoCon tournament would be even worse than where we are.

I thought the toilets were for bzzz's yard

DFL's playing in [NR] 's yard:

2014–15 13–19 5–13 12th
2015–16 11–20 2–16 13th
2016–17 19–14 9–9 10th
2017–18 11–20 4–14 14th
2018–19 11–20 4–14 13th
2019-20 13 -18.  6-14 13th

Wake has plenty of ways to access cash. However, if the only way Hatch is willing to pay for Ron's abortion is with OPM then we may very well be stuck DFL. The only reason there could be an impasse in negotiations is the admins refusal to fess up and pay the contracted price for its mistakes.
