MBB Game 25: UNC-CH at the LJVM - Tuesday -- 7 pm ESPN

Forbes didn't trade for CP3 at the deadline. He didn't trade for Collins and the Hawks have been shopping him for years.
 
Could you imagine the kind of money CP3 would have made from State Farm in college if it was legal?
 
Took a quick look at the play by play. Relying on Torvik's possession count for the game, there were a total of 83 possessions.

With 4:00 to go, WF led 72-57, and there had been 68 possessions for the game. WF's net efficiency was +22 points per 100 possessions.
With 0:52 to go, just after a long 3 by Love and 2 FT's by Ty, WF led 85-75 and there had been 78 possessions for the game. WF's net efficiency was +12.8 points per 100 possessions.
There were 5 possessions for each team in the final 0:52. UNC outscored us 10-7. At the buzzer, there were 83 possessions, WF won 92-85, for a net efficiency of +8.4 points per 100 possessions.

Over the final 4:00, UNC scored 28 points in 15 possessions, (luckily, WF did not turn the ball over more than once, and Ty made most of his FT's) and the number of possessions in the game exploded, both of which pretty significantly supressed the value of the win in the metrics.
 
It became obvious that we were doing everything possible at around the 8 min mark to just milk possessions and basically guarantee the win, which is great for the W, and bad for metrics. We handled the press extremely well, and Appleby made almost all his free throws. Love went absolutely HAM which sucks for the overall metrics.

5 turnovers in an 83 possession game, where the opponent is basically full court pressing you for the entire 2nd half is insanely good. Appleby shot poorly from the field, but it was a master class in passing, free throws, and ball protection.
 
How does RJ Davis have time for that?

Seems like that would negatively impact his academic and community outreach endeavors.
 
Damn that's a quick trigger. Wonder if he'd gone back and forth a few times and it was more than just that.

Many of those dudes over there that complain about this place don't visit. if they occasionally do they don't understand the comraderie of this board and how we give each other shit.

Obviously we've got a few outliers. That board has a weird vibe to me.
