Forbes initial contract committed WF to him through 2026. Then, after the 2022, season "WF signed Forbes to a long-term extension".

Don't believe that the terms were ever disclosed, but the speculation was that the contract ran through the end of the decade, which would be 2029, and I'm guessing its probably a year or two longer than that. So, unless Forbes pulls a couple of consecutive 6-14 ACC seasons like the previous coach, don't see WF with the appetite to buy him out ever.
Also, the money behind the basketball program loves Forbes; and rather than saving their money for a buy-out, those guys are throwing their money behind NIL and facility upgrades to help the program. Unless the Forbes-out group here are culling $millions to trump Shah and Sutton, WF isn't firing Forbes. That is the reality.
