I don’t get that move for either team.
4Chiefs get something for a guy they would have gotten rid of for nothing... And they save money. They've wanted Mahomes to be the starting QB for a while now.
Redskins get Alex Smith (who doesn't suck) for a LOT less money than they would have had to pay Cousins... And they basically now have 3-5 years to find and develop their long-term answer at QB (because they probably aren't contenders the next 1-2 years anyway).
Alex Smith isn't bad... High floor, low upside. You can win games with him.
Not that it’s ever fun to be a Washington fan, but going from Cousins to Smith is like switching from Craft Beer to NA swill.

I feel like I’ve seen cousins take a ton of hits when he scrambles instead of sliding. Also, over the last two years, Smith has been less than 2% more accurate on almost 200 less throws.
