NFL Offseason Thread: 2018 NFL Draft

The butler thing really makes no sense in the context of the Pats defense this year. The beginning of the season they were getting toasted because of poor secondary communication, then to bench a player that played 97% of snaps before the biggest game resulting in Jordan Richards (probably a top hated player by pats fans) is mind boggling.

If by throwing for less yards and having a lower completion percentage than Brees you mean he's better than him, sure.

Come on. Statistics need some context here to. You might be the only sports fan in America that might argue Tom Brady not being top 5 of his generation. Meanwhile, everyone else says he’s at worst the 2nd or 3rd best of all time, if not the GOAT.

Jordan Richards might be the worst Patriots player of all-time. For serious.

yea I think he is pretty clearly GOAT

I knew that would trigger you Ayo, it’s hard to argue against that. Honestly as people that follow the pats it was a crazy dumb game plan and I think that’s why you see people turning on Belichick, combined with him supposedly some defensive genius he has had Brady bail him out the last like 5 years. Game plan that makes sense, Gilmore on Jeffries, butler on agholor, Rowe on Ertz, wasn’t that hard to figure out.

Lol, so Brady just threw for 500+ yards in a Super Bowl, and now he's not the GOAT, or even the best of his generation? OK.

It was great to see an NFL coach actually play to win, instead of doing the conventional/conservative/dumb thing in key spots. You think Mike McCarthy (or about 28 other coaches) goes for the TD at the end of the half or goes for it on 4th down in his own territory on the last drive? Those were clearly the right calls, but so many coaches are gutless and kick in both situations.

Brady's ok, but he had the benefit of the dark lord as his HC. Give Peyton Manning Belichick, and Brady is just remembered as a decent QB.

Except when he ran to burn clock and kicked a FG instead of passing for the first down to clinch the game.

And he lucked out that going for 2 early didn’t come back to haunt them.

Definitely should have run play action on the play right before the 2 min warning. Would have likely iced the game.

How come Lebron's finals losses as huge underdogs count against his legacy by Brady's three losses don't count against his? If not for the two worst play calls in Super Bowl history, Brady would be 3-5 in his Super Bowls.

TBF the 45-50 seconds that went off the clock from the 3rd down run to the completion of the FG, that wouldn't have gone off the clock with an incomplete pass, did prove to be pretty significant.

And going for and getting the TD at the end of the first half >>>>>>>> maybe making a questionable call to go for 2 early on. Aggression was the constant mindset so missing on a two pointer early can be forgiven as a byproduct of that

Clock was going to stop after second down play no matter what due to two minute warning.

lol no one cares about Malcolm Butler

Pats got freaking shredded by Nick Foles lol

I'm a diehard Eagles fan. Thrilled they won. But any talk about dissing Brady or the Patriots is bullshit. All that happened last night is the essence of sports. Nothing is guaranteed. The Eagles aside from a couple penalties played great. In spite of that the Patriots torched them the second half. Brady hit the receivers, made the decisions, made the throws, and engineered the comeback against a very good team playing very well. NE couldn't stop the Eagles and the Eagles couldn't stop NE. Only one punt the entire game. What did happen was the underdog didn't blink. They needed a big play, and the defense made ONE in the last qtr. Both teams deserved to win.
