Obama shakes Raul Castro's hand- Right lost their minds and their hearing

At Mandela's funerla, Obama walked past Raul Castro. The Cuban leader thrust his hand towards the POTUS. The POTUS shook his hand.

McCain and an army of RW lunatics are attacking Obama over this. The problem is Obama attacked Castro and others for their actions against minorities and political opponents.
 
What the heck is he supposedto do? Ignore it and make a scene at a funeral for a great man who is best known for bringing people together?
 
B-Rock is also taking funeral selfies with the PM of Denmark. Michelle is not amused.

Or at least that's what Twitter was saying.

I have totally been in that exact situation where you piss the wife off, and gently try to put your hand on her back and quell the storm...it doesn't work.

According to many when US Sec. of States John Foster Dulles refused to shake Chou En Lai's hand in Switzerland it was never forgotten and harmed US/China relations for decades.

This has nothing to do with parties. It's about proper manners. It would have been a huge (and totally unnecessary) insult to the funeral and to Mandela's memory.

Mandela stood for bringing people together. To play petty politics during the ceremony would have been a horrible disgrace. That anyone brought it up shows how little they know about Mandela and how little they care.

This notion that Obama didn't know this couldn't happen is just fucking ridiculous. As this discusses, the admin. may not have "planned" for this to occur, but they almost certainly knew it might and could have avoided it had they wanted to. And that wouldn't have been any type of slam on Mandela. This was a calculated move for a bigger purpose. Whether you agree or disagree with said purpose is a different question.

It is shaking a hand. Whether intentional or not it is not a big deal.
