Offical Sports Betting Thread

What will be the best betting site to use once this goes live?

Of the approved apps, I have used FanDuel, DraftKings and Ceasars.

Ceasers sucks. Most of their promos are rip-offs, and the site isn't that great.
FanDuel is solid. They have some useful promos, but most are Same Game Parlays, which are generally suckers bets. The app is user-friendly, they offer good futures prices, and getting paid is easy
DraftKings is the easiest to beat. They are sloppy. They are slow to move futures, and they offer the best promos. The app is OK, but not as good as FanDuel.

I've heard mixed things about BetMGM.

For those that want to dive in, suggest having at least three betting options as there are line differences between sites, and over time, it does make a difference. That said, it sucks to have money spread out at different sites, but its a necessary evil.

Those that have applied are:

🥇 ESPN BET
⭐️ FanDuel
🔥 Fanatics
🏆 Caesars Sportsbook
👍 DraftKings
🏀 BetMGM
🌍 bet365
📈 Underdog Sports

Remember last year when the Bama baseball coach was fired for passing on information about an injured pitcher to friends in Ohio so they could bet against Bama versus LSU?

One of the bettors has pled guilty.

Faces up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to $250K. Interesing that his guilty plea stems not from betting, but his attempts to destroy evidence linking the chain of communications from the Bama coach to those that bet on the games.

Got +262 on Wake -2.5 first half and the Under 151.5. Feel good about it except for all of those second half blown leads have been bc we give up 50, which would make an under of 151.5 highly unlikely. I just hope Ga Tech doesn’t have that kind of scoring power.

This may end up being an all-time great post.

If anybody wants a referral bonus as well as we get closer (if you can include that with sign up bonuses) I'm sure there are folks on here who are happy to refer

I haven't settled on anything yet, but here are a couple of ideas to consider:

  • Fading the Mountain West is a pretty good strategy in the tournament, though I would stay away from UNM rather than betting against them in the first round. Dayton +1.5-ish is interesting.
  • I saw Auburn giving 12.5 to Yale. Even though I like Yale, Auburn tends to destroy teams outside of the Top 25.
  • Check the McNeese State moneyline.
  • I like Colorado getting 1.5 against Florida
  • Wisconsin -5.5 over JMU because I think JMU sucks.

I’ve decided I’m terrible at this but still want to gamble small amounts. @Pilchard @DeacInVermont @doofi who do you guys like today and tomorrow.
Oregon
AZ/LB State over

There are far fewer games left in the entire tournament (63) than there are on a typical college basketball Saturday (well over 100), and these games are scruitinized by the books to far greater degree. So, the lines are tight. There aren't any locks right now or even great value picks. The time to beat colllege basketball is in the first three months of the season, when no one cares about college basketball and the books are focused on football. At this point, action is truly for entertainement purposes if you like a late-game sweat.
