Official 2022-23 College Basketball Thread: UCONN - One Shining Moment

VT is toast. BC center Quinten Post is dominating
This is good. If we are going to have any chance, they needed to be out of the picture.

Wake is 2-5 against teams ahead of us in the conference standings right now, and 6-1 against teams below us.

It's hard to overstate how much Louisville, Tech, BC, Notre Dame, and FSU are bringing down the bubble chances of the teams in the ACC.

Pitt beat Louisville by 34 and moved up a spot in KP and like three in the NET.

They are a historically bad power conference team at 301st in KP.
Yeah, there are 4 teams that stink, and 1 team that is awful. The Mountain West has now jumped ahead of the ACC in KP. We have four teams (FSU, ND, GT, Louisville) that are ranked worse than their worst team, Air Force.

Now, I don't know if that would actually play out on a neutral floor, but its killing the conference.

A semi-interesting tidbit from Kenpom:

Wake is currently ranked 65th, with the 29th best offense and 139th best defense
Wisconsin is currently ranked 64th, with the 28th best defense and 136th best offense.

After beating them earlier this year, it's pretty amusing that they are essentially the Wake Forest of the B10, with the difference being that they are good at defense and we are good at offense.

LMU takes down St Marys. Quite an up-and-down season for them, makes that L look better for sure

Chance Stephens didn’t even play for LMU.

He’s the rando that torched us for 23 on 7-10 from 3.

Unfortunately, he's in good company as a rando that torched us (often for career highs) only to do little the rest of the season.

Duke Donks have cheer sheets apparently....

NMSU has suspended its mens bball program.
Major mess there. Shooting by player, coaching staff compromising evidence?

Not stuff related to that. Now hazing incidents. Coaching staff on administrative leave.

Except hasn’t Wisconsin had several games without their best players due to injury?

Makes the win against the full squad on the road more impressive

And highlights the good injury luck for the Deacs

If you are going to go to one site daily to get a feel for the current state of the bracket situation, Joe Lunardi is not it. Go to the bracket matrix, which is also imperfect but much less so since it aggregates 80+ (growing as we get close to Selection Sunday) bracket guesses. Also there will be a lag of a few days or so following upsets, etc.

The New Mexico St head coach is pretty close to Forbes — former assistant/colleague, I believe.

Looks like he was Shay’s assistant that one year at ETSU and was on the Wichita St staff with Forbes.
