Official 2022-23 College Basketball Thread: UCONN - One Shining Moment

We don’t talk enough about how badly Kentucky has been underachieving.
They are seriously awful. Another terrible loss today. Can we go ahead and boot them from the bubble?

Garbage time at the Joel let Caleb Love find his shot. Was hoping Clemson could crush them while they’re down.

Clemson really out here tryna fuck around and find out about making the tournament. They're gonna be roughly where Wake was last year it seems. If the season ended right now they're not top 50 in anything: resume or metrics.

Louisville is only down 6 at Miami at the under 8 timeout.

Miami will probably pull this one out, but has to play in chapel hill Monday night

NMSU officially cancels the remainder of the season as hazing details emerge:

Northwestern beat #1 Purdue yesterday. Chrissy Collins' Wildcats are now in 2nd place in the Big 10 and are close to locking in the second NCAA bid in school history (first since 2017- the last NCAAT for the Deacs). Among the ACC's best OOC wins of the year was Pitt's beatdown of NW in the ACC/Big 10 challenge. The Panthers dominated NW in Evanston 87-58. Prior to the season, the coaching seat was on fire for both Collins and Capel, and credit to both of them for having breakout seasons.

Just looked up Northwestern because I haven't seen them play all year...

Holy shit they are a TERRIBLE 3 point shooting team.

Nothing even remotely approaching a bad loss all season. Good for them.

UNC squarely on the bubble, hosting Miami tonight. Will have a big impact on how the top-half of the ACC standings shake-out.

so far, the Big Monday ACC games have gone ovewhelmingly to the home team, even though the schedulers tried to get some balance by having the home team play on the road the previous Saturday. We'll see if that holds.

Maybe both are ticked that Scheyer got the job and are doing everything they can to upstage and outperform him.

Really only 2-3 "important" games in the ACC this week...

Miami @ UNC (tonight)
NCSU @ Syracuse (Tuesday)
FSU @ Clemson (Wednesday)

A NCSU win would make Syracuse's road to a bid even tougher. Just noticed that Mintz is only 9-47 (19.1%) from 3 this season. He doesn't seem like 1 & done guy anymore. NBA requires that you can shoot at least a little bit.

FSU/Clemson not really a big game... FSU is mostly just playing out the string, but a Clemson loss would be brutal for them as they try to secure an at-large bid.
