They are not far left. They are actually fairly moderate in regards to world politics. We are so far right of center that any moderates look like socialists.

also, the Senate can just censor someone whenever it wants (if they "violate" a rule), unilaterally?

That sure was kind of Senate Republicans to give Warren a signal boost and ensure that everyone was talking about her through the night and into the morning.

Any of the anti-safe space crusaders on the right want to blast their comrades in the Senate for this? I'm waiting.....
 
In its ever-deepening despair over losing a slam dunk election that none of them thought was remotely possible, The Left has completely lost its mind. They simply do not know what to do with themselves now. It's really rather sad, in a way, to see these people wonder about in a continual daze.
 
actually, there's plenty of evidence that the left is more energized and engaged at a grass roots level than ever before. so, once again you're totally wrong.
 
Kind of an arbitrary line to draw about rebukes of a fellow Senator when that Senator is the focus of the nomination hearing. I would think the rules would be greatly relaxed. Not to mention the comments that she was censured for was a quote from Coretta Scott King.

Interestingly, Jeff Merkley read from the same letter and later referred to Sessions by name as well when he said "I do not believe Jefferson Sessions possesses the requisite judgment, competence and sensitivity to the rights guaranteed by the federal civil rights laws to qualify for appointment to the federal district court" quoting from the same letter.

Of course Merkley was neither warned nor censured. I don't think it's sexism as is being pointed out by some (although I do think Warren's gender plays into the level of contempt some on the right have for her compared to someone like Sherrod Brown) but just another inconsistency from the right.

Heard a couple interviews this morning from Tea Party organizers who said that the left is basically taking a page out of their playbook from 2008-2010 as far as activism and protests go. So yeah.
