Republican Voter Suppression Efforts

I’d prefer to avoid a war but we’re basically passed that.

Quote probably falsely attributed to Stalin, but still... "Stop the Steal?" Accusing others of your own actions.

Image came from here but also informs how to have private, secure, and transparent voting

weird how abe got it done, though.

Yeah, but not through legislation. The slave states forced his hand by seceding - Lincoln emancipated the slaves through war power. He wasn’t an abolitionist, he said it himself - “If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it.” Lincoln’s strongest anti-slavery promise in his campaign for President was opposing the expansion of slavery into new territories.

The good old civil war the big thing that you would think would shut the fuck up the whole if you want something changed it’s in the constitution crowd like Junebug but nope.

Which was compromise at worst and slow play at best.

The South wasn’t going to let slavery go without a fight just as we see white supremacists aren’t going to allow a multicultural democracy without a fight.

The shrieks of voter suppression from the left are downright laughable and a transparent attempt to blame any mid-term Team Blue losses on "illegitimate" elections instead of voters rejecting the Dem agenda.

Umm no. Dems are going to get blasted in '22, at least in part due to the fact that they governed like scared 6-year olds and didn't get enough shit done. OTOH, ever since the republican party decided that the 2020 election was stolen and tried to keep President Trump in office via a coup, 'pubs have tried to find ways to keep people from voting and ways to give them more power to de-legitimize the vote.

I know you have the mental capacity of an old futon at this point, but try and see if you can hold both thoughts in your head at the same time.

Can you take a break from partisan point scoring to answer why you don’t want as many legal voters as possible? Why shouldn’t Republicans want voting to be easier? Is there a point in Republicans wanting to keep the status quo or add difficulty to the process?

I think you need to rephrase “legal voters” because that’s the purpose of a lot of these Republican laws, to make the votes illegal by law through technicalities. Like your vote doesn’t count because you used the wrong form, yours doesn’t count because the signature doesn’t match, and so forth bullshit.

This. They're trying to turn Americans into "not Americans" by making taking away their rights like the right to vote.

What voting rights are being taken away? And who exactly is taking the right to vote away from eligible voters and turning Americans into "not Americans"?

Scientists - Please provide specific details and support for this one

LOL - Is that the best support the big brains can find? A tweet string by Juddle Gum?

Casting a vote against the 2021 Voting Rights Act (aka an attempt to federalize the election process administered by the states) is not taking away anyone's right to vote or turning Americans into "not Americans". Surely the titans of intelligence here can grasp this simple concept.

And if requesting a mail ballot is such a difficult chore for dems in Harris County TX, perhaps they should look instead at dropping off a ballot at one of the many poll locations (800 were available just in the county alone for the 2020 election) and Harris County even had a "Drive Thru" location available.

You mean the 1 drop box in the county, that you can only use on election day?

and no more drive thru in Texas

A ban on in-person drive-thru voting
The bill bans in-person drive-thru voting in the state of Texas beginning December 2, 2021. It’s important to note, this will not impact voters ability to access curbside voting.
