RJ's Thread-How many will get Covid at Jerry World?

People keep saying Daryl Morey has the Rockets playing on advanced stats almost exclusively. It ain't working.

You can't win without rebounding or interior D. I love Covington, but even with his wingspan, he'll get abused by good bigs.

That's what John Beilein would have tried at Wake, just as he did at WVU.

It would get you fairly far in college. But not necessarily to a championship. There aren't that many really good bigs in college.

It’s time to release OUR BOI RJ. His continued silencing is FASCISM!

#freerj #rjopinionsmatter #silenceisviolence

One friend's bookie had the game at Wake +32.5, the other +33.5.

No wonder they can build billion dollar casinos.

EDIT: Our scrubs came through to cover. WTG!!!!

The last the Sixers should do is hire Antoni. He's the worst possible choice of those available. His teams have NEVER played D and always shoot threes.

FIFY. Or were you intentionally misspelling his name (with no D)? If the latter, very cute. In any event, Simmons would almost certainly not be back if he is hired.

Obviously there hasn't been any D around him for decades.

Clippers choked away a giant lead again. Multiple times doing that is on the coach.

When his brother was named as Marshall's coach he stated he had been Mike's defensive guy while serving as his assistant. That did not speak well of him IMHO. Actually, in 2020 MU's defensive efficiency ranking (KenPom) was 60 places higher than DFL's. 106 vs. 166.

The NBA Draft this year is going to be very interesting. It's not a very strong draft. Players missed the end of the season. The combine probably won't happen, nor will the number of in person workouts that normally occur.

You also have the wild card of what the Warriors will do with #2. Are they going to keep it? If so are they going to use it for their biggest need- Wiseman or a guard?

Weak execs may get a pass if they fail this year.

With Clippers' multiple chokes, the Sixers horrible coaching, the Bucks' exit, time of Rondo to heal, the break in the middle of the season to rest, it sure looks like everything Lebron could have wished for has happened. Barring something happening, LBJ is favored to win the championship.

This will be the third franchise he has led to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

If you take out the NBA championship (with a totally dominant team), his record is mediocre. Has the large amount of goodwill Doc has created with the media inflated his record?

I think he's a little above average, but that's it.

Doc is well-liked by almost if not everyone and I think that boosts his reputation. And his players play hard for him because they like and respect him. That gets him pretty far. But you have to make the right decisions before and during the game and he - to my eyes - does some odd things with lineups.

I say that taking into account, of course, that Doc and I are good friends.

I've always wondered if the urban legend about Doc and DRJ was true. Allegedly, the rookie Rivers introduced himself to DRJ as "Glenn".

DRJ looked at him and said, "I thought your name is Doc."

Rivers looked back at him and said, "There's only one Doc."

Doc's positive rep keeps him employed. Maybe he needs a change of venue.

There's no reason for our Defensive Coordinator should still have a job. We've had some talent but have been awful. Add to that, for the past three years, we have tackled like a bad Pop Warner team. That's on the DC.

In 1971, Deac Jim Simons was younger than Matt Wolff when he led after three rounds of the US Open at Merion. Jim was an amateur at the time. Yet they aren't mentioning him at all.

That was another great era of Wake golf. Simons, Lanny Watkins, Joe Inman (whom I met at my club when he was repping for Ping) and Leonard Thompson. Great team that never could get over that last mountain.

How great would it be if DeCahambeau's wild ass drive swing would lead to PGA pros doing Happy Gilmore drives? :)
