Somewhere [Redacted] is laughing

It all starts at the top. Even if we were to fire Ron, Hatch will bring in another one like him. Wake doesn't really ant to win. Just remain in the ACC and bring in the tv money.

Sure....but it's an aspect that is probably hard to control, especially when it's not one of "his" players. Crawford was the team leader when we were successful. CMM became the floor leader when the losing started and apparently the players tuned out. Is he supposed to sit CMM? That's a tough one. The good thing is...if that's what happened, then we should be much improved next year without that distraction. Could be another Rutland/Braswell situation.
Yes. He should've sat CMM. His job as coach is to win, period.

I hope no one is giving them a pass.
Up 15 vs Xavier, lose by 8
Tied vs Miami to lose by 14
Tied late vs Louisville to lose by 8
Tied vs Fsu to lose by 20
Up 8 vs Clemson to get handled
Uva meltdown

I agree that Manning & staff should shoulder some blame. However, all those teams have better players, even Clemson. The opposing teams step up and impose their will in winning time. Due to shit talent, we aren't able to do that. Even DT & Crawford fail to convert on the line. The fact that they were able to go toe to toe w/ those teams for any stretch is an over achievement. They need a program turning recruit to jump start them. Odom & Prosser landing Rogers & Paul, respectively. Then for Wake, you need to find some diamonds in the rough, a la Childress, Duncan & Howard.

Well if that is the case then we all should be praising Manning & the staff for being tied or better in the 2nd half against all these elite teams. In a dream world where all 6 of those games' last 20 minutes go a different direction, Wake is a top 10 team. The bottom line is Wake hoops sucks & the immediate future doesn't seem like it has much in store to warrant excitement that things will improve. It seems like the fan base either feels the coaching is not there, but there is enough talent or that the coaching is handcuffed due to the lack of talent....both viewpoints equate to 14th place conference finish.

Is the problem talent? Is the problem coaching? Effort? Selfishness? When a team is in an eight game losing streak and has lost ten of its first eleven conference games, the correct answer is yes if a problem is identified. Especially at WFU.

The pretty strong sign of a good coach is the ability to win with less talent. Winning with less talent also helps recruit better talent.
