The New Socialists

Was there a follow-up tweet stating that even though they were not endorsing Biden that their members to need to get out and vote for Biden and their preferred local candidates in November, as a vital step in moving forward? If so, that's fine. They don't have to endorse Biden to vote for him. But surely they realize that Biden is a whole lot better for them than Trump. Plus, local candidates are where the DSA need to make their progress.

Biden has seven months to win the DSA over. Why should they throw out a half-hearted endorsement now? Make him earn it. That's what independent organizations do.

However that is exactly what Bernie did in his concession speech/tweets.

This is why moderates Dem presidential candidates lose. Instead of finding ways to recruit/attract the progressive wing of the party, the moderates run off the progressives. For better or worst Trump went out and built a coalition with all parts of the right.

I’m not sure if it’s entitlement or selfishness, but moderate Dems just don’t have no desire to reform our economic system.

Sounds like the progressive wing has already made the unilateral decision not to recruited.

Not in that tone, but I'm sure there would have been a little gloating. But that time has passed, Biden effectively won the nomination over a month ago.

If Bernie was the nominee I'd be on here talking about his ideas and proposed reforms, and explaining how that would benefit all Americans. I couldn't tell you the last time I read a post from the Status Quo Crew promoting anything on Biden's platform. Is it because he doesn't plan to change anything? Or that his ideas are so uninspiring that you can only play gotcha identity politics.
So basically Bernie's plan was to not change anything and use the same strategy that got him 30% of the democratic electorate in the primary.

i guess we'll never know

it's hard to whatabout when your guy won

I'm sure you're being sarcastic, but you might want to check out the AOC interview that Townie posted in the other thread.

Why would a campaign reach out to a group who, as MHB explained, has no interest in promoting you as a candidate?

Should Biden be reaching out to Trump to ask for his endorsement?

Man, so tone deaf. Speaking of entitlement and selfishness...

No, moderates are trying to make some policy concessions to the left while realizing that the policies that the campaign ran on were the ones that were favored by a vast majority of Dem voters.

The left seems to think that concessions basically means that Biden should adopt Sander's platform which was a clear loser regardless of the exit poll rationalizations of the left.

The moderate wing of the Democratic Party is the wealthiest of any similar political group in the nation, most of whom were born into that social privledge. They have no desire to risk their wealth and privilege through economic reform, even if it keeps tens of millions in poverty.

Was that clearer for you?

to be clear, are you conflating DSA's base with progressive Democrats?

ETA: because DSA members are members of a different party

Please list those policy "concessions". I genuinely haven't seen anything.

expanding health care access to people 60+ (Clinton was 50+)

means tested debt relief proposal

the first is a joke; the second is intriguing

Biden added a plank for free public college for everyone making $125K or less.
Biden wants to lower Medicare Eligibility to 60 and add a public option for people under 60. (regardless of what AOC says, Hillary was proposing a buy in to Medicare (which is essentially just a version of the public option) at 55.

There are two examples right off the top of my head.
