Haven't followed the Mets but we have had 2 starters, a main arm in the pen, our starting 1st baseman, 2nd baseman, right fielder, and center fielder all spend significant time on the DL.
 
Baseball Prospectus's Effectively Wild podcast talked about this exactly hacking scenario not long ago in the context of what the punishment should/would be. Need to go back and re-listen to that one.

buddy carlyle- on dl, but he sucks so don't care

david wright- 8 g, on dl indefinitely

dilson herrera- went on dl shortly after replacing murphy, just came back


mutts just brought up a reliever straight from a-ball.

That is a bit of an understatement. Throw in Harper, Ramos and Strasburg and we are a team full of injury prone dudes.
