The official LOL Harry Giles thread

Swanigan is an inch shorter than Sullinger and has more range on his shot, otherwise they are damn near dopplegangers. Google their names together and youll find a dozen different articles comparing the two

Swannigan has much more range, is much quicker, is a better defender and has better handles.

Sullinger had a better defensive rating, more steals per game and more blocks per game.

Here are two NBA Draft Profiles, guess which one is Caleb Swanigan:

1. "Still not the quickest or most explosive athlete, ***** improved conditioning has helped him run the floor better, rebound out of his area, and have sustained success deeper into games despite the added defensive attention he's drawing.

He's been absolutely deadly with his back to the basket, where he's reading the floor and navigating double teams better, as well as finishing the looks created for him by teammates around the basket, where he's converting a stellar * of his half-court attempts according to Synergy Sports Tech.

Perhaps the most notable improvement ***** has made is from the perimeter, though, as he's currently shooting ***** from beyond the arc through * games, up from * last year, while raising his free throw percentage from * to *.

***** * wingspan may help compensate for his lack of quickness and explosiveness to a certain degree and allow him to operate more as a small-ball center at the NBA level, something he'll likely have to do considering his struggles covering ground in open space. He's only posted * steals and * in 630 minutes thus far this season, something that will likely stand out as a major red flag considering the lack of historical success of previous players who posted such rates. ***** defensive potential has to be considered the biggest question mark surrounding his NBA potential at the moment.

The fact that he's such a tremendous rebounder may help mitigate some of those concerns, though."

2. Facing the basket is where ***** seems to have improved the most this season. He's regularly stepping out to the perimeter, and is attempting * 3-pointer per game, making * of his shots from that range thus far and * of his overall jumpers.

Where he's even more dangerous is in the mid to high post, where he sees a large amount of isolation plays in **** offense every game. ***** can put ball on the floor effectively and attack his matchup in a straight line off one or two dribbles, being very difficult to contain thanks to his strength and aggressiveness. ***** bounces off opponents and can make difficult shots on the move thanks to his excellent touch, at times using the glass....This is a part of his game that should translate very nicely to the NBA level. that said, question marks linger about his potential on this end of the floor at the NBA level, mainly due to his average physical tools. Slightly undersized for a center and not especially agile for a power forward, ***** doesn't cover ground very quickly on the perimeter, and isn't explosive enough to offer much of a presence in the paint rotating from the weakside.

He's very intelligent on this end, knowing how to bait opponents into take the shots he wants them to, and doing a good job contesting shots and bodying up opposing big men without fouling. His smarts and solid intensity level help him here, as does his above average length.

You'd think at some point elite bits would stop picking dook

Harry Giles does not like to go to school. Sad, but he is one that the system pushed through. Listening to him give an interview is embarrassing. I feel for the kid. Clearly could have worked harder in the classroom but I imagine he was pushed through the system and told to only focus on hoops. Nobody can convince me that his eligibility was not in question with DUKE (not NCAA) this past fall. He attended summer school after getting accepted taking online classes. Was seen by multiple people in the media playing with the team the before the season started, but yet makes his debut the FIRST day after his Fall classes and exams were over....Duke passed him this Fall and he is ONE and DONE just like he was promised when he was recruited.

Kyrie "the world is flat" Irving obviously didn't spend much time in the classroom after the fall semester, either...he also attended a well-regarded private prep school in NJ, most likely on scholarship. I hold no ill-will towards Irving...but come on, let's drop the 'scholar athlete' nonsense

Agreed. My point is Harry hates school, and Harry will leave dook no matter if he is the #13 pick like projected by many , or if he is projected to be the 33rd pick, the first in the second round. He honestly would have been better off not playing a game this season. Dude has lost millions, but maybe not as much as Allen did not leaving last year.

Holy hell, Giles is absolutely clueless out there. And he's lost all confidence in his offensive game. Afraid to even try to make a post move.

The play where Kennard got switched and had Hicks, looked back and knew Giles was in help, then forced Hicks baseline straight into Giles who simply stood in the paint staring into space as Hicks made a layup - was hilarious. Kennard threw his hands up and yelled "WHAT THE FUCK" at him and K immediately yanked him out of the game.

Clueless.

Maybe it's because Chapel Hill isn't his city.

Tar Holes with the very loud "overrated" chant while Giles was on the stripe.
