West Ham got fucking jobbed by Bobby Madley. Why the hell has he overruled the linesman? If Wilson gets a touch, it's offside. If Wilson got a touch, it was off his arm.

Makes some of these £70+ purchases look a little crazy (Martial, Pogba, Lukaku).
 
For a team that takes risks and presses so high to jump start their offense, Liverpool's defense hasn't been too bad this year actually. They're even with Arsenal in goals against and only three goals off Spurs. Not bad for a team with the 2nd most goals scored.

With the exception of their collapse against Arsenal, they've been pretty tight in the back recently.
 
Was just discussing this with friends off the boards. The closest statistical comparisons to VvD are (with Transfermarket values):

Harry Maguire (€8MM)
James Tarkowski (€3MM)
Alfie Mawson (€6MM)
Kurt Zouma (€15MM)

Of course, Liverpool would pay more than those amounts for those players. But they are all younger than VVD and virtual statistical equals.
 
Why haven't Liverpool just poached Southamptons chief scout yet? I would think that would be cheaper and easier than their current SOP.
