Some things that could be not visible.

1. Incentives that are not part of "salary" but easily obtainable.

2. Perks may come with the compensation package but aren't "salary." He too could be getting NIL type money.

3. Savage wants any head coaching gig and is willing to trade some salary for opportunity. Corollary is that he's gone to the next head coaching opportunity shortly.

4. May not be less than he made at Wake. Wake doesn't release salary figures.
