In 11 games as a true freshman during the 2022 season, Richard made six total tackles with one tackle for loss and two pass break-ups. Richard came to Vanderbilt as a safety before moving to cornerback; his playing time increased drastically late last season as he ascended to a starting role. During spring practice, Richard was arguably the Commodores' top cornerback.
