Bye

When has the SEC East been good outside of one good team? The SEC dominance has always been in the West. South Carolina and Georgia always just tumble out of the rankings only to move back to the top 10 in September.

last year? Georgia, Florida and South Carolina were all very good teams

So the Oregon D coordinator is upset that Washington State kept throwing the ball late when they were losing by a substantial margin? Goes to the media bitching about how they were only looking to rack up stats. Um...isn't that a little hypocritical for a team that prides itself in posting huge margins of victory and embarrassing opponents?

Seriously, pot meet kettle.

False, Oregon pulls its starters for nearly the entire 4th quarter in every blowout and they stop throwing.

Must say I've never heard a winning team bitch about a losing team playing too hard at the end.

What I was getting at.

For a long time Florida has been a national title contender year in and year out, just not so much this year. And generally speaking UGA is solid/very good as well. The recent upswing in USC only helps.

SEC East has had multiple teams finish the season in the AP top 15 12 times in the last 20 seasons. 12 times for SEC West too.

What about the last 10 years?

UF has won the title in '06, '08, and was the 2nd best team behind Alabama in '09. If Jordan Reed didn't fumble the catch last Cocktail Party, they could have been 12-0, playing Alabama in Atlanta.

South Carolina has ended up in the top 10 the last two years. Won the SEC East in 2010, which was admittedly a weaker season.

UGA has been on and off over the last ten years. They probably should have gone to the title game in 2007, as they had the hottest hand down the stretch. Came within 6 yards of getting to the title game last year.

Not sure if they've all been in the top 10 at the same time, but there have been some damn good SEC East teams over the last 10 years.

About 1 per year. Since the Little Tyrant arrived, the strength is in the West. Bama, LSU, ______ (A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas, etc.) are usually as good or better than the best team in the East each year (Meyer's UF teams the exceptions). To say that the SEC East is unusually down this year is not being honest.

To be fair, going back further, the East has had plenty of talent when UT was still good and Bama was down.

Since the SEC title game was founded in 92, it's usually Florida who has the resources and potential year-to-year to challenge the guys from the west. Unfortunately, they have big dumb will muschamp football right now.
