WF Baseball Off-season Thread

lsu did get mac bingham though. OF from arizona that is a stud.

It is just mindboggling how we are suddenly a major threat to traditional national powers in stealing their players.
Have been waiting for a return to national prominence in hoops for last decade plus...and still hope to be in the mix with Forbes and will be pulling hard for them.

But must say I do love baseball too and will enjoy this ride for as long as it lasts,

We need to put up some bleachers in left field for frats or something. Call it the "church pews"or something....or the "Couch Pews". Raise the wall a few feet, and add bleachers and/or a deck. There is plenty of room. Cut down the trees between the dirt road and the research building if need be. I assume the hitting lab will be built down the left field line close to the pitching lab. So the only place to add seats will be in the outfield.

When do players have to choose their new schools? Is there a cut off to be eligible? Must be enrolled by the 1st day of the fall semester?

Any word on Donay? Are we sniffing around anyone else?

The exposure the CWS provided and the focus on the pitching lab put a spotlight on Wake Forest. The fact that the pitching lab clearly leads everyone in the nation and is recognized by MLB as such, turned the perception of Wake from an athletic program trying to keep pace to an innovative leader in athletics. That is about as much "WOW" as a program can receive. Deacs were in the right place, at the right time with the right innovation.

Lat year, WF didn’t land JJ until just before classes started in August.

Just doing something like this would make it respectable. It would have the RF/LF at like 320 (instead of 300/310) which is closer to the NCAA recommended 330. We already have the recommended 400 straightaway to center. It would have some wicked corners though.
Do this and raise the wall 10’ all around. Best of both worlds.

cowbell insider. they scared of the deacs.

sounds like montgomery is friends with burns and just got done playing on team usa with seaver king and michael massey. and the fact that he originally chose stanford has gotta mean something (ignore the fact that he's transferring from there now)

Excellent.

We have the money to build a jump shooting lab for hoops and a kicking lab for FB.

Gotta think if we get Montgomery we will fill in the rest of the lineup with ACC level or better players, and we could possibly be preseason #1. Definitely top-5

I mean if we get Montgomery we’re number one no doubt IMO. TCU and LSU have also done well off season but we’d have three projected top 10 picks and Hartle as another first rounder lol
