Saying more with less...
#Culture. Had to spend 2 years at an online diploma factory just to get his diploma and then STILL didn't get qualifying scores until way way late in the summer. And then he gets to campus and gets kicked off the team. #ThanksWellman
I still remember some of the mental gymnastics certain posters went through trying to justify his recruitment back in the day.
This is why Hatch loves Manning - he recruits the kind of kid who benefits from a Wake Forest education regardless of his basketball prowess and who keeps his nose clean while he is here.
"Wynn becomes the third player from a five-man class that Coach Danny Manning called “a good foundation as we move forward” to leave the program. Guard Jamie Lewis left the program in December of the class’ first season, and Jaylen Hoard turned professional."
Conor you're amazing. Don't ever stop writing paragraphs like that. Subtly (or not) shit talk Manning in your articles till the magical day he is gone.

I thought that Manning would extend at least 1 more 2020 offer after Wynn was suspended the second time but I guess I was right only about there being an opening once the season ended. Some will say that's because Manning had lost interest in recruiting by that point. Others might claim he was holding it for a grad transfer. Time may tell who is correct.
Not trying to defend Manning, but the two players graduating in six years is not exactly correct. Manning has coached WF for 6 years; so, he has had 3 recruiting class that have had 4 years to graduate, not 6.
HS Class of 2015:
- Konstantinos Mitiglou (left WF after 3 years in good academic standing for a lucrative professional contract in Greece)
- Corny Hudson (left WF in the middle of his sophomore year; then crashed and burned as a student elsewhere)
- Rondale Watson (Bz recruit; left WF after his sophomore year in good academic standing to transfer to Marshall; graduated from Marshall - first member of his family with a college degree: https://www.wvgazettemail.com/sports/marshall_university/marshall-basketball-rondale-watson-a-college-graduate-key-contributor/article_4f2bb4ce-fd12-5bb5-a430-29bda6f8946c.html )
Mitchell Wilbekin - graduated from WF in 4 years
Greg McClinton - graduated from WF (communications) transferred to ODU to pursue a graduate degree
I would count this class as having one academic casualty.
HS Class of 2016:
John Collins -- Left for the NBA lottery after his sophomore year (in good standing academically); has made $7 million in his basketball career, and is guaranteed $4.1 million next year; if he stay healthy, will be rich beyond his wildest dreams.
Bryant Crawford - Left for pro-basketball after his junior year (in good standing academically); played professionally in Israel and Lithuania (likely made 6 figures plus free housing)
Doral Moore - Left for pro-basketball after his junior year (in good standing academically); played two years in the G League
Keyshawn Woods - transferred to WF, and graduated; spent a post-grad season at tOSU
None of the four were academic casualties. Collins took the academic route now preferred by Duke basketball players.
HS class of 2017:
Brandon Childress: will graduate in 4 years
Richard Washington: transferred through Tallahassee JC to San Jose State (starter averaging 10 ppg and 5 rpg) appears to be in good academic standing
Donovan Mitchell: transferred to Santa Clara (starter averaged 11 ppg and 5 rpg) appears to be in good academic standing
Sam J Matias: transferred to San Jose State. Kicked off the team; appears to be a royal F-UP.
SJM was a complete mess, and was an idiotic recruiting decision. Mitchell and Washington were reaches to play at the ACC level, but it appears that both landed on their feet at their new schools. Over his first three recruiting classes, Manning essentially recruited two massive academic/character question marks: Corny and SJM. The rest of the group either left early to chase basketball cash (which I don't hold against the coach) graduated (4) or weren't ACC level basketball players; so, they left WF to graduate from schools where they could actually play. For the last group, these weren't academic casualties, just recruiting below the level required to play ACC hoop.
FWIW, on top of his on the court issues, Manning has not recruited well while at WF, but given the current the transfer culture and the prevailing notion to chase the cash as soon as possible, it's a little misleading to claim that 2 players have graduated in six years. For the most part, the transfers and the leaving early is just the way basketball is these days.

Manning turns yet another Wynn into a loss.
