Year 11 of the Lobo Era - 3 shut outs in the last 19 games (keeps getting worse)

Actually, when we play at Clem Coach is more concerned about getting out of the locker room to see Clems football pageantry. I assure I'm not kidding.

Anybody close to the team and Grobe know if the staff even looks at stats like these? Seems obvious Grobe does not, but confirmation would be nice.

Two or three years ago the staff didn't know recruits liked Twitter and social media interaction. I think it's pretty likely they don't use advanced stats.

Last year Wake averaged 1.46 yards per drive, 108th in the country. 65th in 2011, 101st in 2010.

It's points per drive, not yards per drive. I was trying to figure out how yards per drive could even be that bad.

Looking at the net yards per drive last year, we gave up a point every time we gave up the ball. By contrast, Alabama gained almost a FG advantage per drive.

Is Lobo Grobe's son-in-law? I'm not trying to be funny. This is legitimate question.

Other than that how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

It's very possible we end up with worse offensive stats than last year and below 100th in the nation in all four categories. Just mathematically that's very hard to do.

From the "press release":

  • Football: 21-33 overall, 12-22 in the ACC from the 2009 season to today
    • 16 overall losses (48%) and 11 ACC losses (50%) by 20 or more points.
    • Wake Forest is one of only three FBS schools returning a coach coming off four straight losing seasons at their current job (Duke and Eastern Michigan)
    • Wake Forest has finished the last four seasons 1-5, 1-9, 1-4, and 0-3.
    • In 2012, Wake Forest was among the worst of 120 FBS teams in Scoring Offense (#116), Rushing Offense (#113, Passing Offense (#91), and Total Offense (#117); Scoring Defense (#91), Passing Defense (#100), and Total Defense (#88).

You can say that these stats are "without Riley Skinner". Thats when this team lost it's offensive identity. It's when LOBO and GROBO lost their MOJO.

Top 100 in the passing categories, what more do you guys want, gezzzz!!!!!

The offense was bad under Skinner, just not as bad. Check out the link and change the year.

Don't forget, these current stats include playing four horrible teams that probably won't win ten games collectively. After State, we will be playing some real football teams and will expect those stats to nosedive from the bottom to below the bottom.

You do not need to see that our offense is, was, and will continue to be a Lobomination until Grobo mans up and gets a competent coordinator. The last two days in the paper Grobe seems to be trying to justify himself in respect to the boards and general fan criticism. for me it just makes it much more clear time has passed him by. Talk and excuses and justifications don't fix the fatal problems in his program. Time to retire Jim- switch over to development and fund raising and save what is left of your reputation and credibility. The magic is gone and it ain't coming back.

I'd love to see a list of OC with 10+ years at one BCS school. It has to be an incredibly small list. Just googled a bit, and it looks like VaTech had a long tenured OC, but he was demoted recently. Lobo has to be the longest tenured OC.
