what if i told you before the season that we'd climb 40 kenpom spots from the preseason projection by mid january?
i know why it's the case, but interesting how generally miserable the fanbase with the team and coach despite this. most people didn't think we'd be good this year anyway. and we still aren't really, but we're closer than we have been in ages.
If this team matures another offseason, brings in Chaundee to fill Arian's role and doesn't lose any of the core (BC, JC, KW), they are a Top 25 team easily next year.
You just get the feeling that JC gets his fouling issues under control, BC plays a bit smarter, lil Chill takes a step forward, Doral gives you a tough 10 minutes, and Chaundee and KW find ways to put the ball in the basket. One of the wing frosh from this year needs to find a way to get onto the court next year to help with depth.
I'd like to thank the big mouth in Section 109 who personally screamed at and called out Crawford as he came off the court following a turnover. Thanks as well to the olds behind me who spent the entire second half instructing everyone in the section on how to break the press.
Are you talk about the lady? I think she was heartfelt and not being sarcastic in her cheer, but it was hard to tell at first.
Olds in 108 just dropped nuggets of wisdom like "don't leave the guy who shoots threes open." Although there was an older lady who was incredulous that McClinton played as much as he did.
Last night was a very good performance. Came out strong to start both halves, responded well whenever Miami made a run. The thing that still bothers me is letting teams get back into the game. I know that basketball is a game of runs and I know that you rarely can dominate a team that is fairly even with you for 40 minutes, but we were up 20+ points in the 2nd half and I think they got to within 6. I know that's going to happen sometimes, but with us it seems to happen about everytime, LSU being the one exception this year. Just wish when we get up 20+ points like that, the other team's "run" would only cut it to 12 or so instead of 6 points with enough time remaining that we could've lost. All that said, we had to have that game last night and after a week off the team responded really well and it looked like Danny and the staff did some good work since the UNC game.
You think so? Seemed like sarcasm to me, but perhaps I was wrong.
