MBB Game 12: WF v. Charlotte - HOF Shootout - Friday 9pm ACCN

I’m almost certain he only named LaRavia as health and safety.

In the post game after VMI Forbes said, “Before I get started, we had two players out because of health and safety protocol, Jake LaRavia and Rob McCray. And that’s all I’ll say about that.”

If he was out with Covid he wouldn’t be on the bench at all though.

The CDC Guidelines on Quarantine and Isolation state that if one is exposed (which is less than 6 feet for greater than 15 minutes, unmasked) that a vaccinated individual does not need to quarantine but they do need to be masked indoors and then can test out 5-7 days after exposure. I assume the Wake protocol is the same or very similar, so a vaccinated, exposed, asymptomatic player could be masked on the bench.

I watched the replay as well. Will someone smarter than me explain why we didn’t go zone or is Forbes just hell bent on us playing good man defense?

we probably haven’t prioritized learning how to play zone effectively in practice. switching to a zone is easier said than done.

If this is the case then couldn’t they theoretically play?

Team misses LaRavia for sure. Dude can straight ball. Who is the team’s third best player? Williamson? Agree that we will need other guys step up as better teams key on ManMan.

This is all true which is why I believe Jake to most likely be unvaccinated, or to have tested positive which I don't think was the case.

Btw, this is the most fun Wake team to watch in ten years or so. Pretty awesome and kudos to Currie and Forbes.

Charlotte usually scores a high percentage of their points from deep. Getting beat on some back door cuts was much better than zoning up and letting them hit a bunch of threes. They got hot late and Daivien rimmed out a couple wide open threes. With no LaRavia I’m not sure how much complaining there is to be done about that game from a strategy standpoint. We’re having to play guys a ton of minutes.

Just watched the replay. Williams was sensational obviously but without Laravia it just becomes the Alondes 1v5 show. That will work against trash teams but our offense was so stagnant in the second half.

We got absolutely nothing from Whitt and Hildreth. Very disappointing in a game where we were severely short handed.

Was super pumped for Mucius hitting those big shots including the game winner. Very well deserved.

You should never be tied at the end of regulation in a game you were leading by 19. I’m sure Forbes would agree.

Assuming by “absolutely nothing” in reference to Whitt, you meant scoring. He was solid in the second half at a time when wheel was otherwise wanting to come off of the wagon for us.

I agree. He made a couple of really nice assists when we were struggling, and he played really good defense. I thought Whitt had a really good second half.

He's struggled this year and I'm the first to criticize him, but the second half last night he showed a lot of poise and was good for us. Still an awful defender but he made some timely passes and even grabbed a couple big rebounds.

Ultimately he had 2 assists and 1 rebound in 20 minutes. Yes he showed more poise in the second half but if he plays 20 minutes we need more than that.

What are the HIPPA rules, people act like coaches are free to just provide health information on players to the media.
