2013 FB RECRUITING MEGATHREAD: Stevenson! 1RB,1DL,1K,2WR,5LB,1QB,5OL,3DB,2TE

We're in the fight for our lives for these kids. We lost 7 guys two years ago. Last year Alec Morris switch to Alabama from us, (what was he thinking?). Ejiofor is being recruited by coach Jackson (Ex Rice coach). This is his old hunting ground, and the reason he got the job. Beside, he's listed as a soft verbal, it was his fall back just like Alex Montgomery had with us. It's not our horse, til it's in our barn.

Alex is leaning toward a package deal with Joseph to Kentucky.

That is still not a done deal and Coach Mac has not stopped recruiting Alex. Unlikely, but again, the horse has to be in the barn and the possibility of teaming up with Tyree Harris is appealing...as is the (landmark, for WF!) recruiting of Offensive linemen this year. Himebauch has been a monster as has Derrick Jackson with the killer class of big, fast and physical LB's.

What do you all think of us recruiting someone who has already made a verbal to Rice (or any other school)? I'm not sure what I think of it myself. I don't think I care for it.

Why? We already self-handicap ourselves enough as is.

Lectro. I'm not against a package deal. It worked with the Thompson Twins. Zach is a 3 yr starter. Boaz would fill our need for depth in the secondary and Alex would be Ragland with hands. Sherman would be a prime candidate to fill in at Safety if we need a body back there.

Sherman is a WR all day...I'd say it's highly unlikely he ever does anything other than developing into a star WR at WF.

Geez, layoff Sherman. He helped win the game against the Tarholes with a broken finger. He will be fine.

Ugh he didn't say anything bad about Sherman read the sentence. Sherman just needs to work on the hands and he will be a good wr.

You are right. Sorry, lousy posting skills on my part. I was responding to all the negative posts about Sherman. Wasn't trying to take on Bill George. We have a lot of posters that expect freshmen to perform like seniors or even pros.

III had several nagging injuries last year including a fractured finger/hand. He is one of the hardest working guys on the team.

The guy has it all... just needs to be able to use both hands. Reminds me of Holt as an athlete in the developmental process of becoming a WR. Tory was called "Hands of Stone" (the old Duran refernce) his first two years at NCSU. He could not catch squat and he had no broken hand as an excuse. He responded by catching multiple hundreds of balls every day in practice. Never seen a guy work any harder and he has influenced a slew of ACC WR's from Scotty Montgomery @ Duke to Kenny Moore. The "in the box drills" designed by Mike O'Cain should be required training...I'd have Sherman eating, sleeping film footage of Holt from his early days at NCSU till his 5 TD outburst against FSU to his heady days with the Rams.

QB/LB now LB prospect Marquel Lee (6'3-220) set to take part in the Chesapeake Bowl today @ 2:00.

Real good looking prospect whose stock certainly suffered from his playing QB. He has a 3.0 GPA and shows high football intelligence. He runs between a 4.55 and 4.6 40 with a frame that can add 20 pounds easily....

Tennesse-Knoxville seems publically confident that Jaylen Miller is theirs for the asking. Visiting them weekend.

Didn't realize he had a broken finger/hand.

Believe he had a compound dislocation of one of his fingers in the 2nd or 3rd game of the season. Played the rest of the season dealing with that, which I assume was pretty damn painful.

Any word yet on recruit visits this weekend?
Hoping for and expecting some good news.

You can't have 2 good hands with only 9 good fingers. This explains some of those drops.

Looks like a white out

I don't see Nigel Harris, Leon Jacobs, or Justin Madison in that pic and they are suppose to be here.

And according to scout we had a late addition that will more than likely commit coming this weekend in Jalen Latter out of Charlotte Vance. Don't see Cydney Calvin in the pic either.
